5-0 Athletics
I’m not pouting. I’m not even mad. The Angels clearly love brooms so much more than they love me, and I’m obviously not going to make them go to the playoffs. What, I’m being passive-aggressive? It’s not my fault they don’t want the joy I want for them. Okay, so maybe I’m a little irked. Who wouldn’t be after we went on a streak that made me throw around all kinds of words of optimism and belief?
At the very least, we saw something cool in the first inning when Pillar had the home run robbery of the season for the team.
Some other decent plays were made too (and Pillar almost robbed another one), but it really means nothing when the bats keep missing. I was willing to excuse the first two losses in our sudden slump as we showed a lot of fight, but the Angels have now been shut out of their last 18 innings.
The Angels are heading out to Chicago where a team arguably even worse than them –look, I’m a bit of a dreamer, okay?– awaits. It’d be pretty sweet for the Halos to not completely undo all the goodwill they earned from me last week, but I guess we’ll find out as Griffin Canning faces off against Justin Steele in a true loser-take-all draft pick deathmatch.
Stuff like this was bound to happen. They have been consistently playing two guys hitting below .200 plus various other fill-ins like Calhoun. Those guys cannot be consistent over a longer period of time. Rengifo missed at least one game. The lineup right now is basically him, O’Hoppe, Neto, singles for Schanuel, and pray otherwise. Their signing of Pillar was wonderful at a stop-gap but that’s all. The rumors about trades are likely swirling and the guys are hearing even after a five game winning streak many players will be dealt.
It’s hard to deal with all of the above. Plus they are down two starters (Sandoval and Detmers).
Shut out …..,.. by the A’s …… twice !!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
They got debacled

Exit manager stage left very soon I would imagine. Detroit may stomp us the way they looked against the A’s 😥
You may be right, but my take is he has done a good job with what he has, and he works for not just cheap wages, but because he likes what he is doing. I hope he stays.
Wins are pretty much happening by chance at this point. I believe Washington stays as long as Arte does not get in to a dementia fueled rage before next season.
Ultimately I don’t think it really matters short term who is managing the “Angeltanic” as long as the ruling military junta of Arte-Carpino-Kuhl remains in place.
👉 Those that really need to point the blame will continue, those that believe this was really a winning roster, well will do so. This team is not going to start winning until a competent owner comes in and brings in baseball experience to the whole damn place. I’m not at all opposed to Rick’s not being bothered by this loss or being sweep by the A’s. Hopium is fun, but we need to as Cowboy says, sell, sell, sell. Rebuilding is tough, but it is the only way to return to another decade of winning.
No General Manager or Manager can win with this team, Sosh didn’t, Ausmus missed, former WS winning manager couldn’t come through, former all-star missed too. 4 General managers couldn’t win a playoff game, so where does the problem lye? You can do the math as this franchise is rotten from the top down.
Arturo is an embarrassment. Bringing in non-baseball friends to take the top three positions, firing a whole scouting department, being so involved in free agent signings and trades, not able to keep long term employees in the front office, hiring the wrong people because they will work for less money, not taking care of all aspects of the minor leagues such as feeding, housing, coaching, managing and otherwise doing what it takes to oversee a MLB franchise in the biggest baseball market in the sport. Got a stadium deal? what did we get for Shohei? The owner could screw up a one car funeral as this organization has died a slow death.
Go ahead and celebrate meaningless wins, go ahead celebrate one of the worst fielding teams in the major leagues. Watch pitchers fall to the wayside or not perform and this will make you happy, so be it, but TWO MOVES are needed, a new owner and a rebuild.
Perry to Arte:
Bad is bad. Shut out 2x to A’s ?? Ward’s stock dropping so low may as well keep him rather than give him away for useless prospects, we got plenty of those already. Adell needs another home period; for himself to hopefully improve and us finally getting rid of a never was prospect.
Back to back shutouts to Oakland.
Even worse our best trade piece injured.
trAdition
…or as we say “just another day as a fan of the Angels”
Sisyphus = fan of the Angels = trAdition
…unburden by what has been.
Didn’t we have a winning streak recently…I cant remember?
