I don’t understand how that question, “Does he (literally ANYONE) put the Angels deep in the post season?” when the Angels had literally the best pitcher and best hitter in the MLB for the last 4-6 years (whatever it was) AS ONE PERSON and wasn’t able to get them to the playoffs. I’m sorry, it’s probbaly the late night beers, but there’s no one who I think the Angels could sign this year to make me think they could make the playoffs, let alone go DEEP into the playoffs. Trout’s presence (ha) the lasrt 15 years hasn’t done that, why would Snell (or anyone else at this point?) do that?

If the Angles are, as they organizationally claim, are always in win now mode, this is 100% the move to make – though Montgomery & Bauer make more sense IMO.

There has been alot of criticism about Perry taking all pitchers in the 2021 but Chase Silseth chosen in the 11th round maybe the steal of that entire draft.
Pitchers primarily but Max Muncy wasn’t drafted in the 11th round. The Non-Doyer MM was drafted in Trout territory late in the first round for $2.8 Million almost $2.5 million more than Silseth.
Especially his comments regarding situational hitting for the youngsters . I’m shocked there isn’t more focus about that in the organization (or in any other MLB organization for that matter) . and if we are going to accelerate our draft picks development we need more instruction like this on the major league level

Well, signing Snell makes Sandoval or another pitcher trade fodder for a prospect or two.
Why? Sandy is still more valuable than a prospect or two (at this point) and we need depth at MLB level as well as in the farm.
