Shohei vs a bullpen game. A more stark contrast could not be made in baseball. Winning this game is crucial to keep the momentum up, which is desperately needed with the injuries that are accumulating.
Ohtani the pitcher went 7 innings, giving up 1 run on 5 hits, striking out 12 and walking 2. It was a masterclass of a performance on the mound, one that the offense was insistent on wasting.
Shohei the batter went 0-3 with a walk. The whole offense had only 2 hits total! It was against the Dodgers’ bullpen, one of the worst bullpens in MLB as of late. An embarrassing showing by the bats.
High Lowlighted Recap
Angels had a play at the plate for the second game in a row, and they, again, failed to score.
Which was ultra brutal as Freeman hit a home run off Ohtani.
That is where it stayed until the 9th when Loup came in and gave up a home run.
The Angels lose, getting shutout 2-0 to the Dodgers again. Pathetic.
Upcoming
No game tomorrow, next games are in COORS this weekend. Yes, COORS time for this offense, it will be very much needed. Drink responsibly.
Need another big starting arm and big bat.
Let’s go to Chicago for these………Lucas Giolito and Cody Bellinger who’s on a one yr.
that way we can let him walk at season’s end. Jered Walsh and Rendon won’t get it done and Belinger can play all the OF positions + 1B and 3B too. ChiTown will be sellers next month.
Turd the page
Guys, this is Baseball. It’s a roller coaster. That’s why I say don’t get too up or too down. After all these years of loving this team, my suggestion is to not get too high or too low. Just wait and see.
0-8 against the Doyers in the last 8. For someone with as many Dodger fan friends as I have this is hard to take. At least the Rams beat the Niners In the NCF championship to make up for an equal amount of ownage. I’m afraid we’ll never get the same chance to make up for the Doyers being our daddy.
That’s the only win the rams have had against the 49ers in the last 8 games
The team’s energy, on offense at least, looks way down since all these injuries happened. It feels like they’re pressing at the plate and not doing what was working the past few weeks. We need someone to step up and put the team on their back. Ohtani did it last week. Who’s the next man up? *cough Mike Trout cough*
Focus on the positives…pretty good pitching against the Dodgers. Little hitting funk that was probably due. Shake it off and let’s go.
Rengifo
Roger Dornwas a the source of our only two hits?We are clearly wasting his prime
How do you turn it around after being Swept by the Giants?
Play and Sweep the Angels!
.
Trout looking very much like Pujols at the beginning of the decline. Can’t catch up to fastballs unless he cheats.
Yep. There is definitely a problem. What exactly, nobody but Trout knows.
Horrendous. Two days and a large pile of offensive suck. Every team throws Trout a hefty dose of fastballs. He can’t seem to make contact. They are screwed.
who wants to pay ohtani 50 mil to decay before our eyes? MEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
50 million – he’s supposed to be the best, well he couldn’t hit a 3 run HR with only one on, well that’s what 50-million-dollar guys do. 🙃
Lol ok
Padlo totally was the reason we lost tonight.
Good powers of observation. His mere presence sucked all of the offensive mojo out of the dugout.
Him taking Adell’s spot on the roster prevented Phil from using Jo instead of Renfroe
Didn’t expect to give up 3 runs, get 2 losses, and probably lose one Shotime.
The Angels gave up 4 runs.
Jeez, picky-picky- 4 didn’t fit.
Aha. some sort of haiku?
Just really bad swings by everyone. They made it easy for the Dodgers.
Nevin so stupid. The current and former Greatest Ever in the History of the Game going 0-15 over two games. Fire Nevin!
No longer need to worry about carrying the mantle of best team in LA. Dodger’s record is now better.
The Dodgers are light years better than the Angels
Y’all Got Runs
Gubi spouting stupid shit in the ninth.
Trout actually hitting high velocity fastballs well? Read a stat sheet just once!
Then glossing all over Ohtani as soon as the game was over. He was great but getting shut out two games in a row against a bad staff is the story.
Gubi is bought, there is no depth in his analysis.
I was wrong, the Saturday game against the Royals wasn’t the letdown.
THIS was the letdown.
Both qualify, it doesn’t taste any different to me
