Jose Quijada does have ligament damage. He’s seeking a second opinion but season ending surgery is a very real possibility. I should say was a real possibility. Dr. Neal must be making a fortune this year. Shoulder surgery seems to be as popular as Tommy John surgery this year. The Guardians top prospect Daniel Espino just had season ending shoulder surgery, by Dr. Neal of course. The Astros have a bunch of guys on the injured list.
Liam Hendriks will now begin his rehab assignment after recently being declared cancer free. The Tampa Bay Rays acquired Chase Anderson from the Reds for an unknown amount of cash.
The Colorado Rockies are in the market for starting pitchers and at this point they are probably not very picky. Max Scherzer is back from his suspension for foreign substance(s) on his glove or hand. The Cubs traded catcher Luis Torrens to the Orioles.
An 18 year old player from Texas A&M- Texarkana was shot in the chest by a stray bullet during a game against University of Houston- Victoria. The game was declared a “no contest” and the player is in stable condition in a nearby hospital.

Just a note. Last ten games the Angels pitching staff is 5th in the MLB in ERA and 3rd in MLB in WHIP. For the year, the hatepen is 3rd in ERA and WHIP and tied for 2nd with 12 saves, one behind leader Pitt.
So stay angry I guess.
MLB pitching sucks. Take away the shift and suddenly everyone’s a hitter.
If we flushed our Poup we could be no 1 which is always way better than no 2 💩
Preparation H will soothe those fears you have about going no. 2, Cowboy.
Ummm. Nice cherry picking there… How many blown saves does the bullpen have? Where do they rank in blown saves?
I’ll wait for your answer.
That Neto kid is a tough nut!!
Neto
Ohtani
Renfroe
Rendon
Lamb
Ward
Thiass
Rengifo
Phillips
But no Trout…just a day off??
If Maverick gets a hit today, We win!
He got a hit and we won.
Trout sure gets a lot of days off this year. Seems like he gets the day off after each game where he hits a home run.
According to Fletcher:
This makes good sense.
Guess that answers my question from above.
I mean, I’m happy Neto avoided serious injury. But I would still prefer that he has a day off, just to make sure there’s really nothing there. It wouldn’t hurt to see how his finger would be in a day without any stress. I know Logan’s was a different issue, but I certainly don’t want a repeat of that – thinking everything was ok after the first instance, then kept on playing, then badly re-injured himself.
Getaway day line-up.
Angels Mantra: Hit a home run, ride the pine.
Isn’t that his third in the last two weeks?
Mike Trout now has 358 career home runs after his late game blast in St. Louis yesterday. Four more dingerz and he ties Reggie Jackson for the fourth most home runs hit in AL West history.
Saw this last night. Perry is trying to micromanage Nevin, and apparently Arte stepped in and told him to knock it off. I wonder if that’s why we saw Estevez two nights in a row…

I dont think it was ever preventing guys from going 2 nights in a row. It was to avoid having them regularly go 4 games out of 5 with no days off. We did that last year and the bullpen went from pretty darn good to overworked and broken real quick.
Fletcher posted the stats on Twitter which was definitely eye-opening. If this is something Minasian is trying to avoid — a repeat of last year’s losing streak — I don’t think he’s in the wrong….its just that the quality of the bullpen depth needs to be better to allow guys nights off. And starters need to go into the 6th inning every night.
I mean, was there ever any doubt that Estevez won’t be used last night, after the Angels took the lead in the 9th? Unless he pitched 40 the previous night, I think it’s just basic common sense to expect AND see him pitch last night in a crucial save situation.
I agree that 4 out of 5 is a horrible idea. But I feel like there have been very few back to back nights by any pitchers all season.
I pulled the stats – these are back to back appearances, out of total games pitched. Feels really conservative.
Estevez – 3 of 14 (including last night)
Moore – 1 of 13
Wantz – 0 of 7
Quijada – 3 of 9
Tepera – 1 of 5
Herget – 1 of 7
Loup – 2 of 8
But 2 out 3 aint bad?

Yeah, I don’t have a problem with back to back. If this came from Perry that means he directly caused the loss to Oakland in that Monday night home game…
FYI when Queso melted down against the Royals that was his 4th game in 6 with no off days.
Coincidink? I think not.
I would like to see the playbook.
Gerald Dipoto is on line 2……
Arte as the “Voice of reason”…Can’t wait to see that reality show lol.
Im sure the discussion went like this:
“Goddamit Perry, Everyone here knows I’m the only micro manager in this organization.”
Takes aside…. This was such a horribly written article. This particular paragraph is straight up slop.
“The manager needs to be trusted to do his job and control all facets of his ball club, and the front office needs to be able to deal with the ramifications of those decisions. This isn’t the first time the front office and coaching have budded heads. The firing of former Halos skipper Joe Maddon was largely due to his frustration with how involved the front office was with his coaching decisions. Joe didn’t like how things were being handled, and he got the boot because of that.”
What the hell does it mean to bud heads anyway?
Something from Men In Black probably.
Professional user of words. Thank God there’s apparently no editor butting in and budding heads with the writers.
I would like to know who the “sources” are. Do the brothers name them in their podcast discussing this? I don’t doubt it is true, however, it is a big claim and big claims require greater evidence.
The Foundation Building Materials’ keystone of the game today for the Angels is “The Number One Song in Heaven” by Sparks.
Angel players should listen carefully to the sound that is flooding Angel fandom right now. It is a song that sings of Ohtani dealing strikeouts from the mound. That sings of everything going according to plan, where Trout/Ohtani/Rendon drive in the big runs when they count the most, where the supporting cast chips in, the bullpen locks it down, and magical comebacks crescendo.

I too like to watch tv
Good morning my friends, Snow in local mountains pretty much makes the 2022-2023 snow season/Winter the longest in many a year. While this snow makes for a bad day, the early baseball game today brings some sunshine into the day.
Got to believe-a sweep could/will happen in Busch Stadium today-I Believe and I know so do you. 😃
Stay safe today if you have to go out, see you at game time. So some have been saying that Trout is not clutch, oh really. 😂
I am cautiously optimistic. 😬
Got home from work last night and was able to flip the game on at the start of the 9th, man that was some good timing.
Posted one early in the morning but will also include here to properly celebrate.
Hallelujah It’s a May 4th murracle . The Force is strong in this lad. https://twitter.com/MLBNetworkRadio/status/1654121297834827780?s=20

The for(th)ce is real!
You can almost spell Neto with indestructible.
He needs to borrow a pair of Shohei’s batting gloves that look like a small pillow is stuffed in them.
Looks to me like Shohei wears Mickey Mouse’s puffy white gloves.

Trout wrestling Wallach?
😂 😂
I don’t care about that. I just want to know where Wallace’s Music City is. (Joke for us oldsters)
It’s Music City!
And goes on ticking.
That announcer’s voice is like something from a 1940s-1950s time capsule.
Magneto was pretty indestructible.
