Blakely is definitely Lively. He just turned 21 but I predict big things for him at Rocket City this year. David Calabrese was the other position player taken that year in Billy’s last draft.
Despite only having 4 picks that year because of the COVID and the Rendon signing. I believeThis draft ( which also included Detmers and Seminaris-who was traded with others to the Brew Crew for Renfroe) will prove to be Billys best Angel draft ever.
He’s OK, knowledgeable, but he’s better with Patrick because Patrick does not have Gubi to drool all over. As for Denny, again has the knowledge, just no excitement.
When we learned a week before the storm, we stocked up with food, water, batteries, etc. Those that didn’t were either one of three things. Stupid, broke or weekend renters which goes back to stupid. Stupid for not checking weather reports in the winter. Broke, that can’t be helped, but they could have asked for assistance prior to the event. Air-Bud (?) folks I have no empathy for if they were up here. The snow started on early Tuesday morning and by Sunday night we were buried, they have time to leave or shop before that. Mountain weather can be tricky, but locals in Big Bear have experience with this, Crestline and Arrowhead not so much.
You’re welcome! I’ve been concerned about you. I’m glad you are safe and were smart. How long have you lived in Big Bear? Has a storm ever been this bad before?
I was wondering about how you were doing. We got about 3 inches here in 29. I was at my dad’s in Prescott AZ- got about 6-8 inches depending. Did NOT go driving in that stuff.
It is tough seeing Adell fall off a cliff in the last 3 games. 7 K’s in last 8 at bats….
Gotta be trade bait. He needs a change of scenery to find out if he can produce at this level once and for all.
I really doubt he has any trade value now. We’re better off sending him down one last time and finally hope he figures it out.
Sandy is looking great….! The rotation 1 – 5 might be our team’s strength
An L in Surprise
Speed kills. Blakely has the SPEED.

Simultaneously two-run singles in both games!
TV game has been so thrilling but I think I will tune in the radio game in Surprise
Not sure how Denny Hocking slides into a broadcasting role every year.
How was he as a low minors manager ?
He was tried out there and like a 10th round draft choice he came up short.
He’s OK, knowledgeable, but he’s better with Patrick because Patrick does not have Gubi to drool all over. As for Denny, again has the knowledge, just no excitement.
How are you and Mrs. GPB? Have you not run out of food and do you have heat?
