The Angels came in with a chance to sweep the A’s. It was a huge deal, as the Angels suck and have swept a team only once this season: a 4 game sweep of the Guardians back in April. Anyone feel Deja Vu?
So who would take on the enormous pressure of pitching this game? Touki Toussaint. Panic ensued on this site, no way he could do it, even though it is the A’s. Well, he proved this site wrong, going 5 shutout innings. they were good ones too, only 2 hits and 2 walks against 6 strikeouts.
Now it was up to the offense to do something, and Luis Rengifo was the one who did something. The Angels July hitter of the month hit a 3 run bomb, making the case that GIF is actually pounced HEEF.
Alas, the Angels bullpen blew it, just like earlier in the year, back when D-cell was here.

Touki had a rough first inning, but got out of the jam with a GIDP.
In the 4th, another jam was un jammed thanks to Stassi throwing out legendary Angels killer Laureano.
It was a pitchers’ duel, one that Touki kept up with, fanning 6 in his 5 innings.
Luis Rengifo rewarded Touki by hitting a 3 run jimmy jack.
Now it was up to the bullpen to not blow it.
First up was Loup and he tried. Oh he really tried. However, his luck won out, getting out of a bases loaded no out situation with no damage! A’s NOBLETIGER-ed, (No outs, bases loaded ending with team incapable of getting easy run) laughably pathetic.
Wantz then almost blew it, walking the bases loaded in the 7th. Jesse Chavez then had to come in to save him.
And Chavez blew it, allowing a bases clearing double to tie the game. Deja Vu…
Unfortunately for the Angels, they failed to score again. Mostly due to managing only 4 hits all game.
Extra, Extra!
HOWEVER, the Angels made it to extra innings due to Tepera doing his job. Game wasn’t over yet!
Angels scored the Manfred runner in the 10th thanks to Sierra!
The 1 run would have to be enough, as the Angels failed to score any more. It was all up to Jaime Barria now.
He blew it, thanks to Laureano.
Onto the 11th we go!
And the Angels failed to score. However, the A’s ALSO fail to score. Somehow.
12th inning time!
Sierra came through again!
With only 1 run, there was no margin of error. Barria was out there yet again. A chance to end this game.
Once again, with 2 outs, Barria had the chance to secure the win and the sweep. Down to the last strike, again, Barria did it! Angels win and sweep the A’s!
Perry must have been held hostage when it came to Chavez, It was either take him or pay down Iggy’s contract. Man how do you blow it the same way twice in less than a week? Perry ate J-Up’s contract, I don’t see a problem eating this one.
Another 14 in a row and .500 here we come.
I was there. I was NOT shocked when Wantz and Chavez blew it.
Detroit fired their lame GM today. It can be done. Results should matter.
This croussant guy looked good, that other pitcher Tucker Carlson…Turk Mendelson…w/e may just get a ST invite next year.

Barria earned that win, Renny came through with the bat and with a throw to the plate for an out. Mediocracy prevails. Boy did the A’s suck on the Suckage Meter.
Barria gave up the game tying run.
Did he? His ERA didnt go up . If a runner starts out on second and no-one put him there does he really exist?
I believe our magic number to win the AL West is now 73. Something like that. Unfortunately we only have 50 games left.
