Angels end June with a win

The Angels had one last game in June, an Ohtani Wednesday vs the White Sox. With a fully armed and operational 2 way Ohtani-san, it was vital to end this horrible month with a win.

Ohtani the pitcher did all he could. 5 and 2/3 shutout innings with 11 strikeouts to just 1 walk. His 5 hits allowed were all singles. Quijada got the last out of the 6th, as well as all 3 of the 7th all without allowing a run. Tepera had the 8th, yet he screwed up, allowing a run to score with some help from a Squid error.

As a hitter, it wasn’t nearly as impressive, walking and striking out in his time at the plate. But luckily, this time he didn’t have to do this alone, as not only Trout did well, but Rengifo hit a bomb. Also, Ward now has a 10 game hitting streak.

June was Ohtani’s month. While the team may have sucked, bad, Shohei was not the issue at all.

Highlighted Recap

Angels got on the board first in the first, with Mike Trout doing his job with an RBI double.

Trout double!

Trout then scored on an error for a second run in the first.

2-0 Angels!

That was all Ohtani needed as he kept striking out batter after batter.

11 K!

Ohtani would like an insurance run or two, so Luis Rengifo obliged with a 2 run bomb in the 6th!

4-0 Angels!

Quijada got out of the jam in the 6th, and pitched a clean 7th, but Tepera allowed an unearned run on a wild pitch.

4-1 Angels

D-Cell came in for the 9th, him and Tepera both appealing their suspensions. He shut down the White Sox and secured the win!

The Angels win! Angels end June at 10-18. Yeesh. Losing almost twice as many as won.

Yes, end June, the Angels don’t play tomorrow.

Oh, so the angels take a series and then have to take a day off. Seems like a conspiracy to me.

Go Halos!!!!

Well this thread has gone off the rails. Enjoy some amazing photos of our favorite Japanese speaking two-way baseball player.

Cuda440….

You are a racist.

Why should Ohtani speak English?

Because he plays baseball in the US?

How many languages do you speak?

Fuck you and your girlfriend, you ignorant piece of worthless shit. If you had a functional brain you’d understand Shohei speaks a pretty good level of conversational English. Go back into the dark cave of ignorance you belong in you racist piece of shit

And your logic makes no sense. You’re saying because Shohei is making $$$ he should master English????? He lived in Japan until he was 23 years old. Have you ever tried to master a foreign language as an adult? It’s not easy. But at least the guy is trying. And your Hispanic girlfriend agrees with you? This provides no validity or substance to your racist comments. Delete your post so people won’t lose respect for you. Take my word……

Well, good. June’s done and we didn’t totally drown. We go…

Astros
Marlins
Orioles
Astros
Dodgers
Braves
Royals
Rangers this month.

If we can manage something like 13 and 11 this month that would be cool. August gets more winable with the Twins, Rays and Blue Jays being the big dogs for that month… so we’ll see.

Was at the game and finally a win when I attend!..🙌🏼 with that said not crazy worried about Marsh cuz he’s just got that I’ll figure it out vibe on him. Regardless he’s so awesome to watch in LF it don’t matter to me. Stassi on the other hand..🤦🏽‍♂️ looks really really bad swinging a bat as well. Crazy to think it’s an upgrade when we see Suzuki in the lineup. Good win tho boys!

It was great to see the bullpen come through.

It was just as huge as Sho’s solid 5 2/3.

We’ve got some bullpen stability with Quijada, Tepera, Iggy, Barria, and Wantz. Hopefully, the team can build on that into the second half.

It all depends on how his concussion testing goes. Same for Pena. Brantly is on the IL for sure.

Detmers had 7 straight Ks in SLC. Hopefully he comes back and brings that to the majors.
14 Ks overall in 6 innings.

Rengifo’s slash line in the last 7 games & 26 PA’s .384/.423/.692 . And his defense at second looks much much crisper.

I don’t think he ever had a hot streak like this in his career so maybe, just maybe, he might have finally turned the corner.

That would be awesome. He looked completely overmatched only a couple weeks ago so hopefully he found something / made an adjustment that will help permanently.

Hoping you’re right, Cowboy.

I’ve been down on Rengifo for a couple of years now.

But, it’s clear to see he’s got some major skill sets.

I hope he can keep the momentum going….

I’m stoked for him… and for Fletch coming back.

While I like what he’s doing, what will really sell me on him is if his cold streaks get less severe. We all know he’s not gonna hit .380 for realzees, but if he manages to not have a long streak where he hits.100 then I’ll start thinking he may have sorted some issues out.

Are you ready to change your view of him or do you need to see a month more of this ? I would not blame you if you said you want to see more…

I believe we’re 10-10 since the losing streak ended so we’ve stabilized somewhat. I’m worried about Marsh. 3 more Ks tonight

He will get it tightened down and get back up to .275. This is where a clubhouse leader starts working a new theme of getting rid of strikeouts. Wait just has lost all concept of what the K-Zone is.

Great to see Shohei Ohtani dealing once again on the mound, showing why he’s the Ace of the Pitching Staff. Off day tomorrow, then onto Houston. Let’s go Halos
