“Bump”, how did the mound ever become the Bump? If someone was to “bump” into you, that is not cool. If you get bit by a bug and get a “bump” that is unpleasant. If when dropping your Granddaughter off at school and you feel the car behind you bump into your car, that’s unpleasant. So why is a pitching mound referred to as a “Bump”?
