We grabbed the above image last night, when no one knew who was starting for either team, and felt it was too funny not to share. The Padres have since announced that Joe Musgrove will start for them. Cooper Criswell is making his Major League debut for the Angels, who do not have a lineup 30 minutes before first pitch.
Back to Rocket City Cooper, tell Mr. Junk he is next.
Well Upton did something very Upton like there
Marsh and Adell look good enough to just cut JUp. It will never happen, but he’s just not good.
Perry should DFA him, place him on waivers. Pay him off…anything. Goose is a better LF.
I thought CGSOs were banned?
They are sure sexy.
Upton due up. This has me excited
LMAO…the dude is done. DONE.
watch him crack one…
Now would be the time he produces provided it does not change the outcome
Come here for Angels baseball…..I stay for the exciting Upton at bats.
And has everyone headed for the exits

Diving into the numbers shows that he is extremely unlikely to sustain any more success.
Well…here comes Sudden Sam Selman.
Fletch is 0 for his last 28
He should be in the leadoff spot. He’s been crap in the #2 hole.
Hes been crap in the leadoff spot as well.
But the narrative!
I wish he was faster…..
you still like him hitting 9?
Yeah, and if Marsh keeps this up, thankfully we won’t be dealing with Fletcher-leadoff arguments ever again
I mean, at the moment it doesn’t matter, put him wherever he wants to hit for the rest of the season, lol
True….
but, if he hits #2 behind Marsh, with all of Trout, Sho, Walsh, Rendon behind him? I think that might work, worth a look next year.
I highly highly hate the idea of Fletcher taking PAs away from any of that quartet.
Are you an anti-Fletchite?
Them might be fighting words for me and Grandpa.
I am pro-Fletcher! But if we want this team to go far, Fletcher is probably the 6th or 7th best hitter on the team, and thus he should be slotted accordingly in the lineup! =)
Don’t agree he’s 6 or 7 best. But, I trust your opinions……hitting 9th next year. Done.
Most, if not all of that 0 for 28 was from the #2 spot.
Not. .297 when batting first, and I don’t care about his OPS.
Hmmm, no comments…
I mean, I’ve gotten into it several times already on this site, and it’s pretty late tonight. Furthermore, if you don’t care about his OPS, there’s not really much to discuss, is there?
I’ll argue against myself: .333 when batting 9th.
if you don’t care about about OBP whats the sense of wasting my time trying to educate you?
Not OBP, OPS. I think on-base percentage is important for a lead-off batter.
so why would you promote a leadoff hitter with a substandard OBP unless you embrace mediocrity
Compared to whom? We are talking about the Angels, right?
well I think everyone should unless you are still living in the 70’s . But under your angels logic he should be batting 9th where he’s hitting .333 this year ( and a .376 OBP)
Fletch is the Tank Gunner. He’s doing his part perfectly.
Ohtani looks disinterested.
Maybe he only likes to Pitch.
Yeah, almost checked out. He probably glanced towards the pen and saw Selman.
He’s tired….it’s on him most nights and he knows it. Trout in the lineup will make a huge difference for him if he isn’t completely gassed already.
Nobody protecting him in the lineup.
Musgrove, the arm that escaped us.
2002? Picture please……… with corresponding general manager picture.
Doesn’t matter who starts if you don’t score runs
Pitching and Ooh yea and hitting are lacking with this Angels team, which is good as we will end up with a better draft choice, very sad and weak but what to do?
Boom or bust offense with a lot of bust
Jason Junk perfect game thru 8 innings…when do we get to see him take some lumps?
Is Queso Quesadilla a keeper?
Q2. Better than Q1.
has a nice lefty cheese (95mph) blend…. Needs a little spice (Experience) better than most of the AAA clowns we have trotted out there. He looks like he has a game plan, can execute pitches.
Dumpster find, next.
sit down, ya bum! (although in retrospect I think I might dislike Canha even more)
oh well. Last 15 games, Gump .415/.456/.604. That’s 1.060 OPS if I’ve added correctly.
Come on, Gump!
Musgrove must be really good
Or……..we are a shutout waiting to happen.
we’re paying for swinging away early in the game and not running up Musgrove’s pitch count.
one blitz away from being back in it!
O’m sorry I thought you said Schlitz
I thought he said Shits….you know, our offense.
when I was a kid in New York I learned that Schaefer, Ballantine and Rheingold were the best beers in the whole world!! I couldn’t wait to grow up and drink ’em! Then I did…
Maybe Upton will be the spark?
At least he didn’t strike out
