Angels @ Orioles 08/24/2021 Gamethread

Dylan Bundy returns home, or at least back to Baltimore as the Angels look to keep them losing. Or maybe break that streak. After all, they are the Angels and this is Bundy. To be fair, Bundy has been much better since coming back to the rotation than he was before in the beginning of the season, but confidence in him is still iffy at best. Discuss…

A lot of people here agree with Brandon Marsh’s mom. I think it gives him his super powers.

Hilarious way for this game to end. Seems appropriate. I was talking about the second out. I was just ahead of myself

Gameday doesn’t indicate the hilarity, just a fly out to Jo. What happened?

It was the ball that kicked off Iglesias foot and went straight Walsh. It was the second out. My mistake when I posted.

Light that baby up, as the Big A shines it’s light into the Western Skies Tonight.

Does Matt understand that Quintana is pretty much guaranteed to end the streak if it’s still going?

Can Marsh get his 5th hit? A HR as an icing on the cake moment…

So this Orioles team will lose 19 in a row, the 88 Orioles lost 21 straight, and the ’39 Browns had the worst record in history. Well the Browns became the Orioles!

And in between they were one of the winningest franchises in baseball.

Signing Chris Davis to that massive contract sent this franchise spiraling out of control.

This is what I’ve been saying about the much larger Rendon contract?

Bringing in your closer with a six run lead tells you everything you need to know about how Joe feels about his bullpen.

I see Slegers started for SLC tonight. 3 innings, 3 runs. Stefanic, 2 for 3, at .341 now

Sluggers is a real nice guy, I wish him no ill will but he should never see the Big A again.

No. That is not it.

Raisel needs the work. He has not pitched for several days.

I understand but bringing in a guy in the middle of an inning seems like more than just work.

He brought him in with two outs. That way he can get four outs, which is not uncommon for Raisel. He is not infrequently asked to get four or five outs.

And now he won’t be available to close out Friday nites game against the Padres.

Why are we talking about Friday, lol.

We have no idea what will happen Wed or Thurs. He may be needed those days and maybe not. If he doesn’t pitch either day then he certainly would be available Friday. I could see him not pitching tomorrow and then pitching Thursday and he would still be okay for Friday….

I expect we won’t need a closer against the Padres but agree, no need to waste him here.

It is not “wasting” him. He hasn’t pitched in about five days.

He needs the work. Don’t make stupid comments.

What a Maddoning pitching change. In a 14-8 game? Dumb. Keep Iglesias’s arm fresh as possible.

With runners on base. Ohtani got some RBI when Shohei batted second with Fletch in a hitting streak.

The Orioles are showing why they have an 18 game losing streak.
