Angels trade Andrew Heaney to NYY

Perry at the last second made a trade. Andrew Heaney to the desperate NYY. We will keep you updated with further updates.

Bodies!
Huh. Neat

Andrew Heaney was gone after this season, so to get something out of him was a solid move. While neither of the prospects coming back are eye openers by any means, more chances are always good. After all, Patrick Sandoval wasn’t thought of much when the Astros sent him over for Maldy.

Best of luck to him.

Well, there’s that…

Also something i find weird with our current and past GM’s is it seems like they have to publicly fellate Arte’s ego. I can’t remember Andrew Friedman or Brian Cashman ever having to say “Thank you for letting me spend money” to ownership

Very good observation. It’s always a public knob waxing for Arte allowing them to simply do their job. What a nightmare it must be having to report to him.

Good riddance to Heaney.

Heaney is such a nice guy, just couldn’t string good starts together. Has to be the mental part of his game.

Yes, agree. I think the mental part of his game is a big, big problem.

I can’t believe the Rangers got Spencer Howard for Kyle Gibson. I also totally believe there are some really drunk/high Rockies fans right now.

Well, I’m enflamed. Who knows? The way Sandoval and friends have been over all the last couple months maybe Quesadilla will “harness his stuff” and become good.

I’m pretty sure Janson Junk can harness his stuff.

It’s Qdoba…….where you can get a Quesadilla, with extra stuff, with Grit and Fire sauce.

Both Quesadilla & Hoyt were already on the 40 man while the Angels only added Sel(Low)man on the 40 to replace Watson & Heaney.

This opens up a spot for Detmers so I suspect one of the 2 promoted AAA knuckleheads will be optioned backdown early next week so Detmers can start in Heaney’s spot on Tuesday in Arlington.

Why would New York get rid of these guys? They seem to be good and they need pitching.

Both are having very good seasons after mediocre starts to their careers. NY likely feels they are selling high.

I like the trades, seems about right. If we get 100% healthy soon, it’s still possible to compete for the wild card.

We have a few more lottery tickets in the bullpen prepping for the future.

If this was the return for Watson, I can’t understand why they didn’t flip Iglesias for something substantial. They HAVE to extend him now because a QO doesn’t make sense for the current going rate.

I also have to believe that they extend Cobb as an insurance policy in the rotation

Hopefully now we’re in a better situation to re-sign R. Iglesias and another starter (or 3) by not having to throw a few millions at relief pitchers who may or may not be washed up.

This team needs cheap talent in the middle relief crew to be able to compete, given our existing obligations to the position players.

So what does the Angels’ Top Thirty Prospect List look like now? All I know is that it is drastically different than what it was two months ago.

Peguero and Junk were both going to be top 30 prospects at midseason in a very deep Yankees farm system.

I’m guessing they’re in our top 15-20
