Angels sell Watson to SF

As the trade deadline came and went, a blip came in. Watson ,the second best guy in the pen, was traded to SF.

eh
That is more like it
Oooo
Now this I like

Trading Tony Watson does hurt the ballpeen by a substantial amount, but, getting 3 players back was too goo to pass up for Perry. After all, Watson was a rental, and the Giants did have him before this season.

I might go to the Sunday Giants game, maybe I will see an appearance from Watson.

It’s gonna be awesome when those two guys can attend the same BBQ as Steve Cishek and watch the playoffs together. 🐳 🍆 ©

He did trade his fastball in for a slower one.

I thought he traded an inherited runner for a run.

It took three GM’s to figure out that our pitching has kept us out of the playoffs for the better part of the last 10 years lol

Damn, if nothing else Marte strikes a few guys out. Just looking at the last draft and who PTP is trading for I think they really intend to do a lot of “openers” and bullpening in the future. They got a lot of guys whose obvious future is pen arm and they seem to be embracing that with gusto.

A 30 year old career minor leaguer? This one doesn’t make much sense to me. Team control or not, it’s unlikely this guy makes a positive difference.

That’s more like it! I can get on board with that!

Watson. The Cishek messer picker upper.

SF obviously thinks he’s a better lefty than the guy they gave up. I’ll trust their judgement.

Watson’s numbers will be amazing for SF. I expect an ERA under 2, more indicative of the kind of pitcher he is, just peep the whip.

not as interesting as the Heaney deal. Is Selman under control for next year? Do we care if he is?

Armstrong doesn’t walk people (WHIP under 1.00)

That’s a good place to start….
