Dylan Bundy went back on the mound vs SF on Memorial Day. It did not go well for him. While he started out decent enough, 3 home runs and 4 runs total made it another not good outing for him. The offense scoring only 1 run was the real issue though. Cueto had their number again and it showed.
Recap
Upton started the game with a leadoff single. Wong grounded into a fielder’s choice, however. Then he got picked off for good measure. Rendon flied out to end the half. Bundy had himself a 1-2-3 inning.
The second started with a double by Walsh. Ward got HBP, then Rojas bunted into a fielder’s choice. Bemboom came up with runners on the corners and grounded out, but the fielder couldn’t get the throw off and a run scored! Also, Bundy got a hit! 1-0 Angels heading into the bottom of the 2nd. Old man Longoria got a 1 out hit vs Bundy. Then Dylan 6ave up a walk. Thankfully, a GIDP got him out of the inning.
Wong got a 1 out single in the 3rd, but was stranded there. SF returned the favor by stranding a runner on second in the bottom half.
The 4th started with another Ward HBP, the CF raising his OBP by the way of bodily harm. It was for naught, as the team stranded him at first. Bundy though was not having a good time. After a 1 out walk, he allowed a 2 run jack to old man Longoria. 2-1 SF.
Wong hit a 2 out triple right into the alley in the 5th. In any other stadium it would be a tied game. Instead, he did not score as Rendon flied out. They needed that run as Bundy allowed another home run. 3-1 Giants.
The Angels went down in order in the 6th, Giants didn’t though, instead hitting their 3rd home run of the day. 4-1 Giants. that was the end for Bundy. 5 and 2/3 innings, 4 runs allowed. Claudio came in next and ended the inning.
Runs were at a premium for the Angels as the 7th ended up the same as the last few. The teams honored those who died defending this country. Strickland came in for the 7th, but did not last long. A walk, a ground rule double, and a strikeout were the 3 he saw before being yanked. That did not do any good as new Q came in and gave up more runs. 6-1 Giants.
Running out of time, the Angels faced a new pitcher. An old friend, Nitro. he pitched well, shutting down the Angels. New Q went out for another inning. He had trouble, loading the bases even, but didn’t allow them to score even more.
9th inning time, and Ohtani came up with 2 outs down 5. It was his only AB in the game, a game he needed more than 1 of. He walked on 5 pitches to extend the game.
Upcoming
The Angels are now 24-30 on the year. Another one vs SF tomorrow. Maybe they can score tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your day, and remember those you have lost.

Arte is the real GM silly!!
OK now, let’s win 2 in a row and be temporally pacified that we’re good again. Bundy is this year’s crash and burn edition ( Bridwell, Buttrey, Robles ). Now we know why Billy Beane wasn’t fooled and probably had a shot at getting him too!! 😆 😫 💩
Back to Arturo, haven’t you all figured out that he’s a Al Davis/Jerry Jones wannabe and is always handling all the big FA signings? I don’t believe for a second that he cares what his GM thinks either. When he does sign them and he hamstrings his GM with a low operating budget and crumbs and bones after all his big signings ( lower draft slot money big long term deals ), he leaves his GM and field skipper to fend off all the barbs and arrows from his behind the scenes action as a little do we know dictator.
Would love to lose 1 win 2 the rest of the year
Bundy seems to have become a 1-time-through-the-order pitcher. If we had any other starters who could take his place, he’d be decent as a long man in the pen.
Still want to extend Bundy?
Nupe!
I want to extend him an ice floe, along with Quintana
Change Rendon’s name to RenDone. He’s Pujols 2.0. How many more years left on that contract?
a lot. He’s not done. He’ll be fine. He’s playing hurt.
I wish he would go on the DL then
me, too. We’re not in it.
What that you emotionless weather condition
Nuts
The guidelines here clearly state to not complain about the same thing over and over (not verbatim) without providing any solutions so here I go….
Complaint: Bench that Bum at 3rd base who continues to smile after every failure at the plate and acts like he’s not robbing this team of 27 million this year.
Solution: put a scarecrow there. Put present day Bobby Grich, there IDC The results will be the same at the plate!!
A $27 million defensive specialist is not ideal…😒
for what it’s worth (probably little) Michael Stefanic, a 2b, has been moving up through the minors, hitting everywhere. Turk’s Teeth can probably give us a good report on him. He just got promoted to SLC after hitting .345 with the Trash Pandas. So far in two games with the Bees he’s 4 for 8. Not that the Angels would bring him up and play him at 2b with Fletch at 3b. We’re committed for years with Rendon.
If Rendon is badly hurt, I’m in favor of putting him on IL for a while, until he’s at least 80-90%, consider the season lost, and use it as development opportunity for trying out interesting farmhands at the major league level to the extent possible. We are getting close to that point.
Jeez another game where we only scored in one inning. Damn fortunate to be 2-3 on this road trip
There was nothing Memorial about that loss. In fact I’m ready to forget.
if they keep playing like this, our site will be as busy as Halos Heaven.
Agreed. Soon to become diehards only.
PLZ!
Don’t send me to Halo’s Hangout! 😥 💩
Is this an Upton gif?
Or Heaney…
A quick glance and that said “Uptown girl”
As in the greatest song ever written?
🤣
It is probably in contention for the worst ever!
at this rate, 72-90.
We need to do worsy to get a better draft pick
Like we know how to pick talent. We know how to pick to save money, but can’t find any talent
Somebody needs to write a scholarly paper on the imminent extinction of the Shufflebot.
We were so close…..
We just cannot win three in a row, hurts. Let’s get em tomorrow.
I would really like to see them win tomorrow. Give us a .500 road trip to two very tough teams.
3-3 road trip, 6-3 last nine…the past is in the past. Onwards and upwards.
Well, since they really haven’t stopped sucking since 2014, maybe it is more appropriate to drop the word “again”
“On No! We still Suck!”
2014 playoffs, We Sucked!
True
We put it all on the line with a drugged-out adulterer.
Possibly one of the single dumbest managerial line up decisions ever.
You can add child-abuser there also
