Today was embarrassing. No hitting, no pitching. The epitome of a last place team.
Not saying the Angels would consider trading Trout, but if they did (theoretically) I would think the acquiring team would have to agree to take on Upton’s and maybe Rendon’s contract as well. That way the team can do a rebuild. Arte would never let it happen though
As much as Trout sucks right now, there is no way I can see them trading him. Anything can happen over the next 9 years.
But nothing has happened in the last nine years to make us think anything will be different (team playing wise) over the next 9.
As someone who has watched this game since the early ’80’s I can tell you that things can change very fast. This team just needs a new mindset. A lot of these players are on one year deals set to expire at the end of the season. Trade some of them at the deadline. Get some prospects into the farm system for a change. Then in the offseason go out and get good pitching. There will be plenty of that on the open market. Unlike the last few offseasons.
I’m not worried about Trout at all. He’ll be fine.

Yup, not going to defend the Mookie trade by any stretch because it was horrible, but they’ve found their own gems in Eovaldi turning out decent, Matt Barnes suddenly having a good season, and Devers has really developed from being a prospect to being a stud.
Think that’s bad? I just tuned in thinking they were playing tonight, and it’s 9-0!! Just turned it back to whatever the hell was on. Don’t even wanna see the last inning.
