Angels punt, predictably lose in Houston

Andrew Heaney’s first pitch was hit for a home run by Jose “Buzzer” Altuve and at that point the game was basically over. Joe Maddon had gutted the lineup and scoring a single run was going to be a challenge. Putting up a crooked number nearly impossible.

When racist Yuli Gurriel cracked a two run bomb later in the inning, the game was truly over. The Astros led 3-0 after one and the Angels never challenged.

How bad was it? The Astros literally pitched a dude named Scrubb and the Angels couldn’t score.

The lone Angel highlight was a sacrifice fly from Drew Butera.

To make things worse, Patrick Sandoval came in and gave up 4 runs in the 8th just to widen the score.

Asterisks 9. Angels split squad 1.

Off day then to Fenway.

Makes no sense to me why to give off days to Trout, Fletcher, and Upton all on a day before an off day. Particularly, when Rendon is not playing because of injury. It is early May, it is not like the team is exhausted.

It’s early yet but does anyone else feel the season slipping away? In May?

Maddon played his best lineup and had the boys prepared to compete. They tried their very best and came up just a little bit short. Joe needs our support as he does Perry’s bidding. Keep believing, brighter days are ahead.

Not going to win to many games when we only score 1 run.

Ex: see yesterday’s game

Still 9 runs given up and the dudes that pitched today were probably going to come in regardless of who was in the lineup right?

Does anyone here believe this team will ever make the playoffs as long as Arte has a pulse?

The entire org is run bare minimum. Remember all the lay offs they did during covid, most people haven’t been replaced/hired back.

Arte simply does not care any more. He cares about his land development deals.

The Angels are a means to an end for him…

I think we’re now officially worse than the McCourt ownership fiasco up the 5 freeway a few years back

That’s saying alot, but you could be right. In fact, Arte was hanging with Frank recently if I am not mistaken…

Try Jeffrey Loria or Donald Sterling.
