Each Week this offseason, Crashing The Pearly Gates will be featuring coverage of our Top Ten Angels of All Time. We want you to be part of this too, so beyond enjoying the coverage and commenting on our posts, this is your chance to write a FanPost here to celebrate your Angels favorites.
Tomorrow will see the official Top Ten Angel article covering Garret Anderson and there is more coverage coming. Although he was the 125th player selected in the 1990 draft, G.A.’s career 25.7 WAR ranks fifth in that draft for players taken in the first four rounds behind HOFer Chipper Jones, pitcher Alex Fernandez, HOFer Mike Mussina and Expo great Rondell White – all of whom were taken in the first round.
Now it is your turn to tell us more during Garret Anderson Week!
One of my all time favorites. I know that RBIs don’t matter that much but his 10 RBI game against the Yankees late in his Halo career was pretty darn cool.
So GA is 10th on the the AL Time Greatest Angels players? For those that think WAR is the telling factor he is probably #10. For those that got to watch GA for ten straight seasons at he peak he is much higher up the list than #10. Very deliberate and quite but impactful and steady with being clutch are his markers. At one point l thought it was HOF headed. One of my top 5 for sure.
Ha! At first I thought the title meant no links this week.
Having GA at Number 10 is a travesty. One could make a good argument he is # 2 or at least # 3 all time.
The periwinkle uniforms were t-e-r-r-i-b-u-l-l.
And those hats with the wings were atrocious.
I know some people say clutch doesn’t exist, but with a man on 3rd, less than 2 outs in a tie game, GA is the man I’d want at the plate.
I’d look up the stats, but I’m too GA.
I’d post a comment here about this event, but I’m too GA to do so.
Bring back those uniforms.
