Anthony Rendon to make Angels debut tonight vs. Mariners

At long last! The Halos’ big-thumping offseason acquisition Anthony Rendon will officially join the lineup tonight. Arguably baseball’s best third baseman at the most stacked position, Rendon will man the hot corner as the Angels take on the Seattle Mariners.

Rendon was nursing an oblique injury and missed the club’s opening series at Oakland.

In a not-corresponding move, it appears that the Angels will call up middle infielder Luis Rengifo and potentially send Matt Thaiss to their alternate practice facility in Long Beach. They could also designate Andrelton Simmons (ankle) to the IL, who may miss a substantial portion of the season.

I believe home cooking (and feeling safe) will make a difference this series.

When is it Jo Addel time? Stoked to have Rendon in there though.

I believe after 8-10 games the service time doesn’t start for this year. So more than likely he will be called up once Trout goes on paternity leave making it not so obvious Billy is doing service time manipulation.

That’s great but is there any explanation for Taylor Ward getting so much playing time?
