Angels players are now participating in the limited workouts. Albert Pujols, Tommy LaStella, David Fletcher, Griffin Canning, and Shohei Ohtani are working out at Angels Stadium in Anaheim.
The MLBPA counteroffers a 114 game season with the ability for “high risk” players to opt out of playing and still get paid. The high risk designation can also include players with family members who have pre-existing conditions placing them at risk of severe COVID-19 illness. The owners are expected to reject this counteroffer. Sixteen teams have pledged to pay minor league stipends through August. The Angels are not among them.
