LA Angels Weekend News Crash: Goodbye Roberto

It is Friday, FYI. While it is hard to figure out what day it is for many right now, we here at CTPG will do our best to remind you what day it is. With LINKS!

Bad News

Astros are getting off the hook again. Even if there are no games the GM and manager bans put in place still count.

White Sox radio broadcaster Ed Farmer passed away. Victor spent some time talking about it on his podcast.

Manfred continues to hide things as he is desperate not to have the notes from the cheating investigations out of court.

Good News

Bye Roberto Baldoquin! The 15 million dollar not Vlad jr was finally released by the Angels.

Even Gattis says that the Astros including himself cheated and deserve the boos.

100 game MLB season starting July 1st happening maybe please.

Taiwan CPBL will start baseball soon.

Astros get boo-ed in the comments on the Youtube MLB Opening Day At Home games.

I do not know if it is good or bad News

Justin Turner proposes idea to have the extra innings after 10 be decided on a home run derby. It sounds fun but I hate it but it would be really cool but I hate it.

Boras has a plan to restart baseball. Which is basically stay at the spring training stadiums and only play vs the Cactus or Grapefruit league. Oh and no contact with anyone outside of the team. So no fans.

If anyone has anything else I missed, post below for upvotes. Survive.

so on those Astros suspensions….

Rob Manfred did not establish a set number of games that Luhnow and Hinch had to sit out. Rather, the suspensions are worded to elapse “following the completion of the 2020 World Series.”

If there isn’t any 2020 World Series would the suspensions be permanent? I’m being facetious. But I see that if the season is greatly reduced the suspensions will end so they can come back, if anyone will have them, in 2021, even if there is no 2020 season. Except for that “World Series” bit….

One does wonder if the suspensions get extended if the season does get cancelled. I would imagine it doesn’t (water under the bridge), but probably should. But with the ideas about FA getting released from their contracts, etc, I can see teams being given the chance to hire Hinch (though why they would I don’t understand – can he manage if his players don’t know what is coming?).

Just a reminder, someday, at some point, baseball will return, and our lives will have meaning again. Until then, stay positive, and always remember, boners are hilarious.
Stay up everybody. ✌🏽

100 seems like a good goal, that is more games than Roberto plays for us, thank you Jedi. Gattis should know, him speaks the truth. The Astros will miss the Angels Boo Birds a lot this season, maybe grudges for cheating last two seasons.

Pretty much describes it

So the players get off without punishment from the league and then the GM and manager’s suspensions become meaningless.

What’s next? Will the Astros lessen their punishment by losing draft picks in a draft that is more of a crapshoot than normal because nobody had the ability to scout the players?

A home run derby after 10 innings? No thank you, too gimmicky. Either play to a winner like now or install a cap at 12 or 13 innings and call it a tie after that.

Would HR Derby total count towards season HR totals? Good bye record book.

Good question. It could get messy, then people wanting asterisks in the record books, etc.
