Here are some late links for Thursday. Jim Edmonds tested positive for the novel coronavirus, but he’s on the mend. Griffin Canning is cleared to resume throwing. Shop Steward Andrew Heaney says that the MLBPA is considering opening the season playing games in front of empty stadiums.
The ballplayers donating to assist minor leaguers today include: Sin-Soo Choo and Daniel Murphy.
MLB has canceled the 2020 London series between the Cubs and Cardinals. People are beginning to describe what a shortened season might look like which I regard as a good sign.
I’m sorry these links were late folks. Yesterday was a weird day for me. If you see more interesting baseball stuff, post a link in the comments.
The end of an era.
15 million right down the old drain. Thanks Dipoto !! That was some stellar scouting.

What does everybody think about ditching the All Star Game and playing post-season games in Los Angeles, Anaheim, or San Diego?
If a season happens, I think that scenario is a lock with Nov/Dec playoffs. Would be kinda cool to see the Braves play the Cardinals in a playoff game at Angel Stadium.
would also be cool to see the Angels play in a playoff game at Angel Stadium.
Haha agreed!
I have no problem with ditching the All Star Game. I’ll be happy when baseball starts again , but would rather be able to see it live instead of games in an empty stadium.
Who all is in favor of telling Covid-19 to GTFO???
I love the idea in principle, but remember that December tends to be a rainy month hereabouts.
Canning has embarked on a long hike down Garrett Richards trail into the wilderness. Good luck with that.
Thanks for bringing the bad vibes
You are welcome. I would love to believe that this will work but history tells us it probably will blow up in their faces and TJ surgery will be needed, after multiple shortened seasons of 4 to 8 starts. The probabilities tell us that this it what will happen. it is an unfortunate situation that seems like now would be the good time to deal with it.
Now we have the whole issue of “is it an ethical time to be having elective surgery.” If there doesn’t seem to be a tear, they might as well let him blow it out and then get his surgery in late July.
Which is what someone here was saying back when Canning’s elbow issue resurfaced in Spring training, but I can’t remember who.
