Of course it would come down to the last game of the season. With 100 losses on the line, the Angels tease the fans by having this dreadful level of suckatude come down to the last game of the season, blowing leads and being offensively offensive for so much of the season that it HAS to be on purpose at this point.
That some of you reading this WANT 100 losses sicken me. Yes, it is a mostly useless factoid but it is SOMETHING to have over other teams at a time that the fans need anything we can get. Losing today would mean absolutely nothing. It won’t change the lottery odds, it won’t even change the 2nd+ rounds as the Angels can’t be jumped by the A’s or move past the Rockies. Is it to just spite Arte as he finally leaves? All that will do will lose us a fun fact as he DNGAF and people in the future won’t care either.
Losing 100 games doesn’t even give you much, really only the Astros have absolutely tanked this century AND were able to be great. The constantly playoff teams like the Dodgers and Yankees haven’t lost 100 in over a century. Dodgers are looking to break the Braves record of consecutive playoff appearances and the Yankees haven’t even had a losing season since 1992. Why should we root for a big L that won’t help at all?
Anyway, it was Kikuchi’s final start of the season, maybe of his time with the Angels, who knows what happens this offseason. He went 5 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, striking out 7 and walking 1. Not bad, but he really was inefficient and needed to go more.
The real blunder was the offense though. And defense. Multiple bad defensive plays. Worse situational hitting. It was horrible. Hard to watch even. Scoring so few runs and then just giving the Mariners even more is how you lose. And that is what this team has been. The worst team in Angels history. Utterly disgusting.

Grissom stupidly wasted the first Angels challenge with 2 outs in the top of the 1st with no on just because he stupidly thought he had a walk. What he really has is bad eyes.
In the 2nd, a bunt, botch by Meckler, and a groundout made it 1-0 Mariners.
A HBP and 2 hits in the 3rd allowed another run to score for the Mariners.
And a groundout makes that 3 runs.
It wasn’t a shutout as the Angels scrapped by to get a run across on a sac fly in the 6th.
However the stupid team can’t keep anything close as they allow a run on Grissom not being able to catch a throw.
And instead of getting out of the inning, Siri drops the ball allowing 2 more to score.
In the 8th, the Angels did not go quietly as Siri hit a 2 run home run to mostly make up for his bad fielding today. Mostly.
So that means the catching must be stupid and have a passed ball to give the Mariners one more run in the bottom of the 8th because they SUCK.
Angels do jack shit in the 9th and lose 100 games for the first time ever. I’m so mad right now.
