Angels @ Giants 7/25/26

As Posey is proving, sometimes catchers do not make good FO types. And Suzuki shows that with managers!

Hmmm, 9-1 Giants. That would lead me to believe that The Angels are not a very good team

The Giants are a bad team. Ugliness abounds.

Got gunned down by half a mile trying to go 1st to 3rd on a single to right.

I’m glad I didn’t see that. Nothing like getting thrown out taking a base when you need every runner.

Remember we kept Suter on the 40 man to get rid of Mederos.

I know. There’s probably 10 other guys I would’ve dropped before him.

It’s just a feeling but I think Suzuki is telling the players “just keep doing what you’re doing and you’ll come around”. Or maybe not telling them anything at all…I don’t know

It’s hard to believe he could function as a MLB catcher. He has absolutely no feel for the game at all.

I would love to know his rationale for some of his decisions.

Trying to apply logic to someone utterly lacking in baseball aptitude is a futile endeavor.

O’Hoppe works hard, he’s in great shape and his results get worse. If you have any brain cells there is really only one logical explanation for that. Announcers trying to get us to connect the dots.

The Angels team has the wrong people helping their players on the offensive side.

In the case of the hitting, they once again hired a guy with no experience who excelled decades ago taking steroids.

Yes, that has been true for a really long time. O’Hoppe is a good thing waiting to happen with the right instruction.

I agree. I think he could be a positive hitter and and a better defender with some competent coaching. I know he wants to be.

I know O’Hoppe spent a lot of time off site revamping his swing this off season. If only we had someone that the players trusted because they knew he actually knew wth he was talking about.

I think my pre season prediction of 69 wins this season for this bunch was a wee bit overstated.

I predicted 39 wins and they’ve already surpassed that! At this pace they’ll get mid 60s but I think if trades go down that it could be a bit worse

So how many RBI did Trout get in that 4 game series in NY? Take that out and how many RBI’s does he have in the rest of the season?

that series got him into the All-Star game

He had 7 home runs in the first Astro series (2) and 5 in the Yankee series. Take out those two series, he has 12 home runs on the year and 27 rbis.

I went to Game 3 of the WS where we crushed them, and they got drunk and nasty real fast. Hopefully they will be in a better mood where the shoe is on the other foot.

If Suter can’t get lefties out, then why is he here?

I’ll take the question seriously. Most of the team was put together by an intern who never knew what he was doing. He signed the wrong guys, he traded for the wrong guys, he drafted the wrong guys so that’s the pool of available players we’re left with

Eric, I could’ve written that post, but you did a better job summarizing Minasian in a nutshell.

No one can pitch consistently well anymore in MLB topping out at 91. It just isn’t possible.

Couldn’t we say that with about half the roster, why are they there?

Guys the Angels were not even that much of an underdog today. I bet 131 to win 100 that the Angels would lose and another 15 to win 24 that they’ll lose by at least 2 runs. Easy 124 bucks!

I know it’s only the DSL but Cespedes is up to 52 steals.

what’s the rule on position players pitching? Can they come in here? or only in the 9th?

Roy Hobbs

I think it’s just 10 or more runs down.

AI says extra innings, down by 8 runs at any time, or down by 10 in the 9th or after, which makes no sense, considering down by 8runs at any time.

maybe one of them is when you are up runs. I know the Dodgers sometimes throw a position player when they are up.

Yes, its up by 10 runs in the 9th or after, losing by 8 anytime, and extra innings.
