The line up today was actually kind of rational.

In the top of the fifth inning the Athletics got a couple of hits and a sacrifice fly to make it 4-1 Angels. That was the score at the angels win 4-1 Angels.
I know, not going to happen but it would be easier to win the West than get a wild card spot. We’re about the same number of games behind for each but only gave 4 crummy teams to pass in the AL West but 7 for the Wild card
I am seriously going to miss the Perry the Platypus memes in the headers, but won’t miss Perry.

Angels now tied for 3rd longest winning streak in he majors
This is the most obvious stretch in the schedule for a winning streak and now we get the Perry fired bump.
Bullpen is on a fantastic roll. I think the graphic during today’s game was 3rd best in the MLB since 6/20. Combined with Adell getting hot and the AAA guys still hitting, now imagine adding good starting pitching at the same time
without Perry’s constraint on the lineup I think we can win more games
Time for us to be bold at the trade deadline, assuming what we get back is worth it. they should even pursue moving Trout.

Things are starting to unravel. It was a bad reaction by Moore driven by the complete disorganization in the clubhouse. We don’t know what Moore was told when he was brought up and we don’t know what he was told when he was sent back down. And Suzuki is all matter of fact about everything. He’s not a leader and needs to be fired like Perry.
This was the very issue I pointed out a few weeks ago when Perry stupidly and unnecessarily signed Madrigal to play the infield instead of bringing up Moore who had been scorching hot at Salt Lake….You want to capitalize on that moment when things are working for a young player and let him experience that feeling at the Big League level….. I pointed out that Perry doesn’t know what he’s doing….. I also said young players can get “demoralized” if they are left to rot in the minors when they are ready for and need big league experience….It appears that this is EXACTLY what is happening with Moore….Clearly the kid is demoralized…. This is an organizational failure and not just Suzuki not knowing how to handle things….. but Kurt surely did not make it better.
Yep, at this point you may have to trade him. …… Then he will show up on another team and Napoli The Angels every time he faces them.
Yeah, that would be a shame. If it happens it was a purely case of an organization that f_ up a talented young player by jerking him around for too long in the minors…. just what I feared could happen….They needed to show the same kind of patience they showed with Adell instead of sending back down after a two week slump….

Trade Christian Moore? I don’t think we’ve reached the point of no return by a long shot. There is plenty of runway to get him sorted out – particularly under new management.
The more important decisions revolve around Soriano, Detmers, Neto and a few others. I now believe a house cleaning is on the near horizon.
The Angels figure to be the most active & interesting team at the deadline, but, Moore won’t be one of the players moved.
yea it’s more a Perry issue than a Suzuki issue in my mind too. We have enough guys that have shown they need abs where they can just dump Soler. What does Soler bring to the table? He surely won’t be back last year. When he went down we got better production from DH than when he was here.
Piss attitude from moore. Accept your role, keep improving, and wait to be called up again. No need to cause friction, it’s pointless.
It’s pointless to keep playing Soler and Lowe. Probably not his decision to option Moore, but he makes the lineups.
Dude is too young and not even an established starter to be causing any locker room drama.

Denzer at 3rd and Peraza at 2nd make a big difference in my mind on defense. They make big plays and we stay away from big innings. Also it was nice to hear the announcers not gaslight us about Adell’s defense. When he backed up on a liner so it could land 10 feet in front of him they called him out on it. Can not wait until our defense is more of a priority than it’s been.
Denzer and Peraza are the two who make sense.
The defense has been one of the main things holding the defense back.
Clearly Perry was the problem
