Angels Win Series Postgame

Ryan Johnson was apparently sick. Today we got newbie George Klassen on the mound.

Inning 1

Luke Raley hit a stand up double on the first pitch he saw. Cal Raleigh grounded out. Julio Rodriguez struck out. Josh Naylor flied out to Mike Trout in center. Zach Neto doubled on the second pitch he saw. Mike Trout lined out and Neto was able to advance to third. Nolan Schanuel flied out to very shallow left. Jorge Soler grounded one through to the left for an RBI single. 1-0 Angels. Jeimer Candelario grounded out to first.

Inning 2

Randy Arozarena walked and J.P. Crawford struck out. Randy Arozarena stole second base. Cole Young walked. Leo Rivas hit safely to score two. 2-1 Mariners. O’Hoppe did add one to his successful ABS challenge string. Luke Raley struck out. Cal Raleigh walked and then Julio Rodriguez lined out to left.

Jo Adell grounded out to third. Josh Lowe struck out swinging. Logan O’Hoppe hit one past the third baseman for his second hit of the series. Adam Frazier got his first hit of the season and O’Hoppe advanced to second. Zach Neto struck out.

Inning 3

Josh Naylor bunted to third safely. Klassen was throwing the ball all over the place to Randy Arozarena who eventually walked. J.P. Crawford struck out. Cole Young flied out to Mike Trout who made a snow cone catch at the wall. Ryan Zeferjahn came in to pitch and he struck out Mitch Garver on three pitches.

Mike Trout got a stand up double into left center field. Nolan Schanuel grounded out to first to first. Mike Trout advanced to third. Jorge Soler grounded to right for a single and scored Mike Tout. 2-2 tie. Jo Adell foul tipped a changeup for a strikeout.

Inning 4

Leo Rivas struck out. So did Luke Raley and Cal Raleigh.

Josh Lowe got hit by a pitch that was right at him. He just had to take it. He stole second. Logan O’Hoppe walked. Adam Frazier advanced the runners to second and third with a sacrifice bunt Zach Neto grounded one off the glove of the third baseman to score a run. Neto got an RBI for that. Mike Trout struck out. Nolan Schanuel got an infield RBI hit to first base. 4-2 Angels. Jorge Soler struck out.

Inning 5

Julio Rodriguez struck out and Josh Naylor grounded out. Randy Arozarena walked and pretty much J.P. Crawford after a failed O’Hoppe challenge. Cole Young homered to score himself and J.P. Crawford. Mitch Garver struck out.

Jeimer Candalario doubled to center deflected by the glove of some dude, I think Rivas. 6-5 Angels. Here I had a transmission problem.

Inning 6

Leo Rivas walked. Brent Suter came in to pitch.and picked off Leo Rivas. Luke Raley and Cal Raleigh struck out.

StrikeTrout, Schanuel ground out, Soler walk. and Candelario line out/

Inning 7

Julio Rodriguez grounded out to first. Josh Naylor grounded out. Randy Arozaraa lined out to center.

Inning 8

Nothing happened in this inning other than Mike Trout getting hit hard by a pitch.

Inning 9

Some how Julio Rodriguez … Look …. I am having internet problems. Jo Adell struck out, leadijng to xtra innings

Inning 10

J.P Crawford scored Julio Rodriguez to make it 7-6 Mariners. Bryce Teodosio sacrificed bunted to put Jo Adell at third. Logan O’Hoppe sacrificecd in Adell to make it 7-7 Angels.

Let’s look at this team every ten games….
Who here would be happy with a .500 record against three playoff contenting teams to start off the year?

I would be. Baseball is alot more fun when the angels are relevant

LTBU. No stupid home run celebration hat so far, nice. Those should only be allowed if you are playoff bound imo.

They could’ve spent $50 million and they’d be a playoff contender. Murakami DH, Littell SP 4, 2 real bullpen pieces. Not signed Moncada and traded away Soler.

I’m completely shocked they were able to pull off this win. The Angels are notoriously bad in extra inning games.

The team showed some resiliency and ability to get clutch hits and sacrifice flies. They also laid down some bunts. Baby steps.

Great win. Very cool for me. I got the signal we were going to win.

I don’t know if it showed in California but it did in Texas. My daughter was in a Hyundai commercial about a year ago. It’s been running off and on for the last nine months but I’ve never been watching TV and saw it. Watching the Angels game today – I finally saw it. She does horse trick riding – and they were going to do some, but the insurance and all the back up support needed to do tricks with animals on a set would have added a huge expense – so they changed it to just have her back up the horse. So they just had her back up the horse.

5-5 is on the higher end of our expectations. Are we any good ehhhh but I don’t think we are this hopeless 100 loss team that some believe.

It is not just the record of 5-5. This was a HUGE series win. It was huge for psychological reasons. Seattle is considered the best team in the AL West and are the odds on favorites to take the division crown. We proved we can play with them.

Winning the first series with them after losing the opener was so, so big. The resilience was amazing.

I’m at 74 to 78 wins. Not quite .500 ……. Again.

One game back despite only 3 played at home. Could be worse.

Funny stuff, we are a half game out of first. 😆

Yes. That is because the Asstros LOST in extra innings on a Brent Rooker 3 run bomb.

Just makes the day that much sweeter.

Wow. I turned the game off after Bachman blew the save.

I can’t believe we won !

With Shaun Anderson of all people leading the way !!

Yeah to be fair Bachman was really good and Andersen really wasn’t – but did close it but ultimately.

(4 straight balls to the #9 hitter)

You can put a Halo over Kurt Suzuki. Management calls to get a run in the 10th without a hit and a game winning inning with no hits.

Frazier needs to be playing more often.

Surprised this team has managed to play .500 baseball up to this point.

LTBU! Classic day-game barnburner. The bullpen picks up Klassen after his inauspicious MLB debut. Halo bats make Castillo work. Suter goes pooter and blows it, but the Halos get the lead right back. Bachman’s FB was nasty, but he got cute with the slider. Anderson, and his man bun, holds it down in extras. Schanny avoids being on the sch*t list with the go-ahead sac fly. Back to .500!

Did Trout leave because of the HBP?

Very good job by the bullpen today. Perhaps a coincidence that without Moncada in line up, the offense picks up. Good fundamentals with the bunting, moving runners over.

Candelario was 1/5 so yeah I don’t think that was the difference.

Wow. I turned off the TV when Raley was HBP. I couldn’t watch. So glad it was a great outcome. Whew.

I’m indifferent about wins these days, but something about beating the Mariners in a series never gets old.
