Morning Angels fans, have links or whatever.
Angels News
The Angels did something. Angels signed Jeimer Candelario to a MiLB deal. That goes with almost all moves the Angels made this offseason. We have a list now actually.
Grayson Rodriguez
Alek Manoah
Vaughn Grissom
Drew Pomeranz
Jordan Romano
Kirby Yates
Nick Madrigal (minor league deal)
Josh Lowe
Trey Mancini (minor league deal)
Yoan Moncada
Jeimer Camineiro (minor league deal)
Players that looked great in 2022. And Grayson Rodriguez. Angels are basically last chance for MLB players before playing in east Asia.
Around Baseball
Carlos Santana is still around, but chose to go to Arizona instead. Maybe that means he still has life left in him. Though it is his 9th team.
Yainer Diaz won his Arb hearing over Houston. Now the Trashos have to pay more. HAHAHAHA.
The MLB HOF announced the caps for the 3 players that got in. Carlos Beltran Mets, Andruw Jones Braves, and Jeff Kent Giants. No surprises there.
Speaking of, all public ballots can now be seen on the website. There were 7 blank ones this year.
Forced to go to Missouri? The Negro League Museum will be free all throughout February.
White Sox get bidets thanks to Murakami. Did Ohtani ever request them?

Miguel Andujar to the Friars, 1-year $4M. Dude balled out in 2025 and good value.
Andujar was an Angels target I mentioned a couple times – would have been a great hedge against Moncada’s injury history, given he can also play LF.
It looks like Minasian is throwing all his veteran 3B eggs into the Jeimer basket.
So Framber to Tigers for like 38mil a year x 3. Good for them being an up and coming playoff team. Now please do not do anything to already upset the competitive balance even more by trading Skubal to the Dodgers.
Feels like a desperation move to me. Tigers were quiet early on and had not done much and then they leap at 32-year old arm, good but not great.
It helps their WS chances this year, and he moves to #1 on staff when Tarik bails to Yankees or Doyers next year.
Tyler Anderson?
Wow
That’s funny… MLB made a mistake entering our transaction for Shaun Anderson
I can’t wait til we make our season predictions. I’m gonna say 39-123 but I won’t say that now. I’ll wait til March
Soriano, Detmers, and GRod will all get Cy Young votes. Neto and Adell will each produce 5+ WAR.
And we will come mighty close to 100 losses.
Rada, AL ROY 2026
Well, you are consistent.
Right now, I see the same record as last year’s team and for all of the same reasons. During Scioscia’s last three years the pitching staff was giving up from 4.4 to 4.6 runs per game and won 48% of the time. The last three seasons pitching has surrendered between 4.9 and 5.2 runs per game with results all too familiar. The Angels aren’t winning until they get better pitching.
I genuinely like #1-4 in our rotation, but once inevitable injuries hit we the collapse will begin. If our starters stay healthy and productive the bullpen will ensure many no decisions are had. If our bullpen is somehow good too, well dammit put the champagne on ice and prepare Katella for the parade in November.
Wait..nevermind. I forgot to calculate the offense and defense in 😂
I’d like our #1-4 in our rotation if we signed Framber and Gallen.
You also forgot all the positive WAR Suzuki, Anderson and Maddux will generate….
It is certainly a possibility that 1-4 in the rotation could be an improvement over last year, assuming they stay healthy. But, it is more likely than not that the bullpen will be much worse than last year as they lost their 3 best pitchers. The position players are the same minus Rengifo and Ward. Hard to believe the defense, which was horrible last year, will be any better. People will have their opinions, but it’s hard for me to see any improvement in the offense and possibly a decline. To me, the two most likely improvements could come from Rada and O’Hoppe. I don’t see anyone else as being significantly different. In summary, I believe the starting pitching may be better but everything else looks much worse on paper, and as you have mentioned, a few injuries and things could look really bad as we have no depth. What’s really a downer is that even if everything goes right this year, we still won’t be good enough to make the playoffs.
If everything goes right this year, the team will win 75 games. That’s if EVERYTHING goes right which rarely if ever happens.
If things go very wrong this year, the team could lose 110 games.
Realistically this feels like a 65-97 season.
Yes, last year they won 72 games, and the team is not as good as last year, and last year we also had very good luck with injuries.
A composite of the offense:
Soler?
We are on the same page. My biggest gripe is team defense. The roster is constructed terribly, almost like Perry doesn’t give a shit about defense.
I listened to Lowe and Trout interview with Rodger Lodge and their responses were infuriating. Trout wants to keep playing the field, and Lowe said he is most comfortable in RF. How many RFs are on this team??? Forcing Adell out of the position he earned a GG nomination seems likely. O’Hoppe is awful defensively, CMo is barely passable at 2nd, Moncada at 3rd …
Defense matters to most people. To Perry it’s a minor inconvenience in roster building.
Wait till they send Soler out to play left field at Angel Stadium! That is going to be like watching a car wreck in slow motion.
Still thinking Soler will be let go from team before season starts. Original feeling was before camp opened for position players.
Exactly my sentiments, glad someone else sees this
I’m rolling with 84 – 78
For the good or bad, sure looking forward to the Baseball season to get started. Angels ST will be fun too, with so many new faces including manager and coaches. 😃
It sure would be apropos if we got Goodwill as a sponsor this year. I’m just saying – that would be on brand.
I think it works.
Of course Waste Management works too.
I’ve got one more…
Bro. CHOC thrift is where we are at.
Anaheim Ducks 📈📈📈📈📈📈
Anahe– Los Angeles Angels 📉📉📉📉📉📉
One more week till Camp Suzuki opens.
Dónde está los Non-roster invitees?
The non rosters are arriving in Arizona, just have to go to the Greyhound bus depot, you will see them arriving. Nothing but the best for the Angels travel dept.
White bread and Kraft singles for everyone!
I bet our guys actually have to pack their own food. While our blue neighbors are serving up sushi, catering in Chipotle, Whole Foods custom salads and such for their players. Life in a wealthy organization vs Arte handing out EBT cards.
New families in the military qualify for ebt, isn’t that a shame.
Wonder white bread to be specific
Arte sprung for Kraft?
I heard with the savings Arte sprung for Spirit Air.
I still can’t believe that Jeff Kent is in the Hall of Fame. Really watering down what it means to get there.
And yet he’s a step up from David Ortiz.
This is true. Yeeeesh. When my son and I were touring the hall, I came across Ortiz and loudly said, “Hey look, it’s Big Flappy the Roid Boy”. People around were laughing, there was a lot of Seattle fans there because of Ichiro.
Bobby Grich career WAR of 71, Kent career WAR of 55.
Lou Whitaker Bref WAR 75.1
Willie Randolph Bref WAR 65.9
Ian Kinsler Bref WAR 53.8
Dustin Pedroia Bref WAR 51.8
Draw your own conclusions.
Chase Utley bref WAR 64.6, and increasing vote totals 59% in 2026, he’ll make it in the next year. Or so.
Definitely not a HOF in my book.
