As a pure bullpen play, I liked Snead over Shores in last year’s draft. All the velocity of Shores, with a much deeper repertoire (5 pitches, three of them above average), and a history of health and durability. He was drafted at a slot-appropriate point in the draft, not a reach.
He’s a plausible late inning guy and a potential fast mover. Just needs to work on fastball shape and command, as he’s more heat than carry. Good groundball traits due the sink on the heater, if the Angels can ever get a plus infield defense behind him.
That “athleticism” we’ve read about evident on grounder to first… nimble covering the bag. Stuff looked pretty filthy although there was a hard hit ball the center. 123.
My family and a couple others are getting a place together to catch some games the last weekend of ST – March 14-17.
Planning to go to games on the 15th and 16th. We booked dates before the schedule came out and were pretty disappointed to see that we got Tempe Diablo and Hohokam, neither of which seems to be a favorite according to internet articles on the subject. Excited nonetheless though.
BTW, it’s good to see Kavadas followed a strict conditioning program during the off-season. The Pillsbury Boy regimen.
Wade Meckler sweet triple off the wall tightens the Rockies game
And now Nate Snead!
Long stride, a little like Jordan.
Good velocity and control, but gets on top of his pitches a little. Nice.
Just struck out the last hitter on three pitches.
You’re definitely getting the more interesting pitchers than the other game
Yes, it makes up for the Oswaldo at bats.
They let Lugo play the entire game. The wrong Lugo.
🤣

Woooooot. A run.
Let’s lose two!
4 hits today. Nice
Yes for “them.” We have one.
Angels against Rockies have a whopping 3 hits!
Yeah I was talking about both games combined
Oooo… Shores on the mound for the eighth

Mederos is another guy that throws hard but can’t miss bats
I hope our players are just working on something specific, like trying to not hit the ball
The hitting coaches have their work cut out for them
No hits in Tempe through 3 2/3.
Not sure it’s been stated in the past, but… Diablo Stadium has the shittiest concessions and overall fan experience in the cactus league. By far.
No Beer tops out over 5% ABV. It’s Utah beer basically.
It is probably my least favorite park. I do enjoy the back fields.
Surprise is so mediocre and out of the way that it is probably my least favorite.

O’Hoppe 2 RBI triple after Rockies CF fell down lol
Karen at short. Just executed a completely routine play perfectly.
Kyren! Pardon.

At the game today. Rodriguez look good on those last two batters. Sharp change up. Shook off a misfield in right.
Nice. Heard he peaked at 98 on the fastball
Even the Rockies announcers are confused by the Angels organization strategy
