Kikuchi got on the mound for the Angels, wondering if the money was worth it. All 3 of his former teams were not only in the midst of the playoff race, but 2 of them are about to win their divisions. But hey, this means that once he leaves, the Angels will make the playoffs again! That’s how it works right? It is what happened with Dusty Baker. Leaves the Giants they win 3 WS, leave the Cubs, they win a WS, leave the Nats, they win a WS. Leaves the Reds and… What do you mean the Reds didn’t win one? Sigh…
Oh yeah, how did Kikuchi do anyway? He went 5 and 2/3 innings giving up y runs (Only 1 while actually pitching) on 5 hits, striking out 2 and walking 3. Not getting a win today. Because Angels bullpen. He should have done a Blake Snell and refuse to leave the mound.
Highlighted Recap
A pitching duel huh? Those do not do well for the Angels, and the Brewers got the first run of the game in the 4th by beating out an IF single.
Showing a Brewer highlight means that this is actually a game, because in the 5th, Luis Rengifo hit a 2 run home run!
Unfortunately, the Angels went to the bullpen, puling Kikuchi with 2 outs in the 6th, not even at 90 pitches and they blow it.
And then the bullpen allowed more, with 3 runs in the 7th. Needless to say, that may as well be ballgame.
But hey, at least Jansen pitched a clean 8th because he won’t go to COORS due to his heart issue.
Angels lose. 7th in a row.
Upcoming
