Cards @ Angels 7/21/26

Weird how few of these Pujols played in, in hindsight.

Just let Zef close, and give Yates his walking papers.

Suter instead of Natera? Man this is some crazy managing.

There’s the hit batter. Walk coming up.

Let’s cash in on Zef and close the loop on the Luis Garcia trade. Somehow one of Perry’s better trades

We have to get it within 1 to give Yates a chance for a blown save

Mitch Farris having a 3.67 ERA is shocking.

This team has had so many pleasant surprises. If the opening day roster wasn’t complete ass and we had a manager who would lean into the good surprises instead of trotting out the opening day roster, this year could have been competitive maybe.

Certainly better than it has been.

this has always been the Angels problem. Give guys they paid money in the off season too way too much rope, get off to a sluggish start, then finally get them out in August.

Oh yeah, there is an alternative universe where this team is battling for the AL West.

Perry getting fired, a potential deadline firesale, and top lottery odds make all the losing worth it tho

but I also disagree about Farris, his number other than ERA are pretty horrid. He can’t get righties out to save his life. Over a 1000 OPS against them. That won’t play in a 3 batter minimum game.

Yeah that’s pretty bad. I didn’t look at any stats other than the ERA.

You’re intentionally tempting fate with that comment. Kirby can still pitch.

Oh, I always expect the worst for this team. Trying to reverse jinx it by speaking it into existence.

Kirby is actually very effective when he pitches with a 6-7 run lead.

If I wasn’t too lazy I’d be interested to see which teams have more pitching WAR from homegrown players than the Angels.

Detmers, Soriano, Urena, Silseth, Bachman, Natera, Fermin all easily on the positive side.

Brewers, Phillies, Guardians, Dodgers, Top 4 supposedly

Key word there is homegrown. Do the dodgers even have a home grown pitcher? Gonsolin?

I love the small print on the Subaru commercial: “Do not attempt. Professional driver on closed road.”

I didn’t realize dogs could be trained to be professional drivers.
