11-4 Victory Postgame

Walbert Urena faces Michael Lorenzen tonight. Below is the dreaded bullpen availability video. I guess we won’t be seeing Aldegheri.

So how did the Angels make out on Pride Night? Urena retired the Rockies in order in the first inning. Jorge Soler got a walk and Wade Meckler got a base hit. The Angels left them on base.

In the second inning, Hunter Goodman walked and stole second base. The Angels stranded him. Donovan Walton and Nick Madrigal both grounded hits to the right side to put two men on with no outs. Jose Siri doubled into the left field corner to score Walton. 1-0 Angels.

Michael Lorenzen uncorked a wild pitch to score Nick Madrigal. 2-0 Angels.

Logan O’Hoppe singled to make it 3-0 Angels.

Mike Trout walked. Vaughn Grissom got a two out double that scored O’Hoppe to make it 4-0 Angels.

Michael Lorenzen threw another wild pitch to make it 5-0 Angels.

Oswald Peraza singled to make it 6-0 Angels.

In the third inning, the Rockies went down in order. Nick Madrigal got a leadoff hit but the Angels left him on base.

In the fourth inning, Hunter Goodman doubled and Troy Johnston also doubled. 6-1 Angels. That was it for the Rockies in the fourth. Wade Meckler got another hit with one out. Vaughn Grissom homered to make it 8-1 Angels.

After that the Angels went down in order. In the fifth inning, Eduard Julien walked and Tyler Freeman homered to make it 8-3 Angels. Nick Madrigal singled but he was erased on a fielder’s choice by Jose Siri. Another wild pitch sent Madrigal to second base. Jo Adell hit an RBI single to make it 9-3 Angels.

Mike Trout was robbed of a home run to end the inning. In the sixth inning, the Rockies went down in order. Wade Meckler doubled for his third hit of the game. Oswald Peraza doubled to make it 10-3 in favor of the Angels.

Nick Madrigal got his fourth hit to make it 11-3 Angels.

Jose Siri struck out to end the inning. In the seventh inning, Sterlin Thompson singled. The Rockies left him on base. Mike Trout walked. If the Rockies had any challenges left the last pitch would have ended up a strike. Oh well. Wade Meckler singled. There is our trade bait, my friends. Get him while he’s hot! Vaughn Grissom struck out to end the inning.

In the eighth inning, TJ Rumfield got a one out double. Troy Johnston got a two out single to make it 11-4 Angels. That was it for the Rockies in this inning. The Angels went down in order. In the ninth inning, The Rockies needed to overcome a seven run deficit. Kirby Yates came in to pitch so it was clearly not impossible. The Angels got through it without any further scoring. The Angels win it 11-4!

Trout hit the ball hard tonight. Too bad nothing fell. Wally gave us 6 good innings again. The rotation isn’t great but it’s not THE problem

Walton and Siri each got a hit tonight but still now have a goal to return to .300+ against the Doyers.
