It’s not just us! Bryce Johnson for San Diego just gave a classic example of bunting incompetence. 1st and 2nd, no outs. He put the bat out three times, pulled it back and was caught looking. Each pitch was “oh my gosh, if he’s bunting why didn’t he make an effort to bunt?”
“The Angels are reportedly considering a familiar face for their managerial opening, with MLB Network insider Jon Heyman reporting on Wednesday that Albert Pujols will be among those to interview for the job. The Angels have not confirmed the news.
The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reported that Pujols is believed to be Angels owner Arte Moreno’s leading choice to be the team’s next manager”
I was watching some World Series highlights of long ago. Three conclusions: pitchers of today throw harder, players of today are bigger and faster, fields are in better condition.
Meanwhile, Detroit is now threatening. I was going to ask “will Bybee get out of this?” Well, no
Honestly I’m pretty ambivalent about the SD vs. Cubs series. I have good friends who are SD fans so I’m rooting for them a bit, but would be perfectly fine with the Cubs winning that one.
And I’m going to root against the Yanks/Sux winner in the next round so I’m not all that passionate about that series.
Bad take.
Go Phillies!
lotsa baseball tomorrow!
In regards to the Halo’s 2026 Manager-Too bad Anne Sullivan is dead, she’s probably would be the only one who could turn this shipwreck around.
Fit for tmw, so I can feel like a winner and loser all at once
I definitely loathe the Red Sox more than the Yankees. However, I will root for Toronto either way tomorrow.
So, I guess the fun lies either in having NY’s season ended in their own ballpark by Boston or by Boston choking away a chance to eliminate NY.
I go back and forth, wanting both to fail
I agree although I do like how Boston got rid of that terrible Devers contract and got better.
We get 2 winner takes all games tomorrow. I hope Cincy can make it 3.
Mason Miller is…deadly. This is why the Padres traded some top amateur talent.
2- 2/3rd innings, 8k’s
Kid is a beast.
It’s what happens when you actually have top talent. You can both make those type of deals. We don’t have that.

Bunting is something that has disappeared at all levels.
boy oh boy. I remember when starters would go 9 in these games. Today’s starters so far have pitched 1 (reliever starter), 3.2, 3 and 4.2
ballgame, now to switch to the NL contest
here’s some non-news but it looks like news.

Doesn’t that save the team money, since Albert is already getting his money annually from the contract he signed when he first got here?
I have to believe if he’s hired as manager they’ll bump up the salary.
(Heavy sigh)
Detroit and Cleveland always play close games.
It’s kind of like getting two boxers whose styles mesh nicely.
Three games in the openings were close with one not so much and today’s game starts with a close score. I love Baseball.
All games should be day games.

Also, prices for everything (tickets, parking, food/drinks, memorabilia at gift store) are astronomically higher
ain’t that the truth!
Would probably extend the WS into mid November or later now that everyone is a winner! and gets in to the playoffs.
It used to be when I was a kid. They’d drag a TV into the school auditorium and let us all watch on the black and white during recess and lunch.
3 out of 4 games were good yesterday although the team I wanted to win only won 1.
Dodgers bullpen almost blew it though.
That will be their kryptonite, the pen. Wondering if Sasaki will help.
I got lucky, 3 outta 4.
