The Angels had their chance at both Kade Anderson and Ethan Holliday. They chose right handed pitcher Tyler Bremner with their number two pick overall. Here is further detail about him. The Mariners chose Kade Anderson and already reached an agreement with him.
The Angels optioned Silent C to the minors over the weekend.
The Tigers just signed right-hander Geoff Hartlieb to a minor league contract.
The Brewers designated outfielder Drew Avans for assignment.
The Mets activated Sean Manaea from the 60 day IL.

Don’t look now but Denzer Guzman has a .750 OPS after a season-reviving night at the plate yesterday… https://www.milb.com/gameday/trash-pandas-vs-lookouts/2025/07/13/782815/final/box
He’s been en fuego for weeks !
Still only 21…
We’re on pace to win 79 games which is a little better than many of us thought. We’re going to have to fight to finish over .500. It’s hard to not be better than last year after winning only 63 games.
I’m predicting 70-92
So at least they took some highly rated prep prospects later in the draft. Maybe if they get them signed the draft isn’t quite as bad as we thought, but man taking relievers with top picks is frustrating.
I’m of the camp that after the Bremner pick, it is a horrible draft. Picking a bunch of wild relievers because of velocity screams injuries, TJ surgery on the shelf for : years, coming back getting shelled, injured again, rinse, repeat. And ignoring bats/position players in the early rounds in favor of relievers is a fireable offense in my book. I want to see the signing bonus they threw away on Shores.
So I watched Shores pitch the last 2.2 innings of the CWS. NGL he looked pretty damn good, obviously much better than he had been early in the year. He even pitched the 9th because he was dominating over their usual closer.
Take a look if you haven’t.

Eh, still just a reliever whose fastball tails slightly to the right. You can get those guys later in the draft. We have the same guy in Ben Joyce, who is shockingly on the injured list, and we may not see him the rest of the season.
I don’t think the pick was the best at all, but I think you are underestimating how hard it is to find guys later in the draft who throw 101.
That Dan Haren trade was interesting. I think we got over 9 WAR from him in 2.5 years for four good prospects.
The Arizona Diamondbacks are open for business.
After a disappointing first half has left Arizona 11 games out of first place in the NL West, the team has made starters Zac Gallen and Merrill Kelly, third baseman Eugenio Suárez, and first baseman Josh Naylor available for trades, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
All four players are pending free agents.
Do we even have the assets to trade for Suarez as long as Perry is going for it.
Eugenio might be a nice FA target for us in the offseason…
TB just got sold. When will it be our turn!
After a brief break back to the pitcher draft
Alton Davis, P. Did Perry look at his 5-0 record or his 8.14 ERA and 1.952 whip?
We need a Suarez replacement.
If the Cubs do trade for Yoan, I think Pedro Ramirez (2B/3B with their AA team) might be a good return. The MLB.COM site rates him as their 16th best prospect and reminds me of Rengifo as a switch hitter with a bit of power and able to steal 20 or more based.
Hi everybody, Angie here. I’m new. I want to make a compilation video for my boyfriend of some of the Angels’ best moments of the first half.
Can many of you please respond here by listing the date,,score and opponent of a really great Angels win this season?
Thanks so much!
Xo Angie of the Angels (Angie Thomas)
A compilation video for of the Angels’ best moments of the draft might interesting
One that showed the facial reaction of all the posters!
Browse back through the Postgame articles. They have highlights. Offensive highlights are more common with this team than defensive ones. We have had some great roller coaster games in June and July.

Who will play 3b next year?
I Don’t Know.
Re-sign Giffy? Re-sign Yoan?
Denzer Guzman
I believe that next year will be a big disappointment because the team will regress after overachieving this year and Perry will think we’re close so he will do very little.
Alford too? OK. Now Perry is just fking with me….
exactly what Arte hired him to do.
So I am confused. If he was saving money for later rounds to pick hs hitters to keep them from college why is he picking college hitters
I will be the first to predict that Chase Shores will turn into the next Paul Skenes.
The resemblance is uncanny! Except 2 inches taller!
Plus Chase has a similar delivery and four pitch mix.
He just came back from TJ this season so expect to be amazed by him next year!
Or pauley shore
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I wonder what grade the pundits will give us
F, possibly a D- if they are feeling generous.
D or D- overall
F for missed opportunities
We have another hitter except he is more defensive minded then offensive
I actually like Jackson fine for a later round pick. He has power. He’s semi-fast. Not a total head scratcher.
He’s a good baseball player.
Andre Ethier – another nice recent Devil OF.
#229 – Isaiah Jackson – OF
Ranked 214 by MLB
Woohoo, another hitter!!! We finally get a steal!!
WAIT! THIS is actually a guy I looked at for a “down there in the dirty rounds” pick. Holy crap. A guy I would have taken where I would have taken him. Unpossible.
Forks up. Pick #481 from Arizona State. (that’s a lot)
Kole Calhoun. Kenny Landreaux, Reggie Jackson.
LFG!
I would love to get those diamonds in the rough – Howie Kendrick, Mark Trumbo, Peter Bourjos, David Fletcher, etc.
It’s just that they also had a chance to hit in the earlier rounds and did not.
You’d think the Angels would realize by now that drafting relievers just doesn’t work. A lot of MLB relievers are actually failed starters. Heck look at Detmers. Angels have drafted a lot of very successful college relievers only to see them fizzle out as soon as they get to AA. Probably because unless you have tremendous stuff, you need at least 3 pitches to get people out, which college relievers simply don’t have.
Exactly. If the Angels were drafting guys like Sawyer Hawks and Aiden Haugh right now I’d be annoyed, but at least they are starters in good college programs who, if they wash out, can be pen arms. We aren’t even doing that. Taking a reliever with your SECOND PICK?
We don’t need no stinking hitters. We will win every game 1-0 and lose every game 13-1
I honestly can’t imagine how Perry can see the state of the farm in terms of hitters/position players, and be like “We’re good!”
No secret of my disdain for Perry, he is in over his head. He comes off as someone who is smarter than all other GMs, he’s now back to revisiting his all-pitcher philosophy which bombed the 1st time.
Lose 120 games by the way
It’s like Perry was driven mad by all the shit talk over the “pitcher draft” and has gone all Captain Ahab and is now going to sink his ship trying to prove that white whale is out there and he can be stretched into a starter.
This draft is so amazingly bad that Q Anon people are gonna start investigating if PTP is a spy for the A’s sent to deliberately destroy our farm system. It is a mind bogglingly bad draft.
this awful draft is obviously to distract from the Epstein files
What. Artes on the list
This is what’s left of MLB’s top 100 that are undrafted. Probably due to signability issues. Also not sure if anyone dropped off from the draft on this list. At Round 7, might as well pull the trigger:
