Happy Postgame! A quick double and a single put the Cardinals ahead 1-0 in the bottom of the second inning. The Angels came back in the top of the third with an Anderson single, a Ward single, a Rengifo double, and a Trout double to make it 3-1 Angels.
Jordan Walker homered in the bottom of the fourth inning to make it 3-2 Angels.
We had a long period of nothingness. Ian Anderson came in to pitch the seventh inning and retired the Cardinals in order.
In the bottom of Ben Joyce’s eighth inning, Nolan Schanuel committed a two base throwing error to allow a Cardinals run. 3-3 tie.
The Angels did nothing in the top of the ninth inning. The Cardinals couldn’t score in the bottom of the ninth. We got extra innings again tonight.
For the tenth, Kyren Paris pinch ran at second base and Yoan Moncada walked. Nolan Schanuel drove in two runs with a two run triple. DFA! But seriously, 5-3 Angels.
Jo Adell singled to make it 6-3. DFA!
Tim Anderson grounded into a double play.
Garrett McDaniels came in and a walk, a wild pitch, and a double made it 6-5 Angels. Travis d’Arnaud chipped in a passed ball to send the remaining runner to third. Ryan Johnson came in to pitch but gave up a run to make it a 6-6 tie. Double plus ungood. Well hell! They loaded up the bases with an intentional walk. The Angels got a force out at second to end the inning. Sheesh!
Taylor Ward grounded out and drove Tim Anderson to third. Luis Rengifo popped up a suicide squeeze but Tim Anderson managed to make it back to third safely. The Cardinals walked Mike Trout to get to Kyren Paris with two outs and men on first and third. Paris hit an RBI single to make it 7-6 Angels.
He stole second base. Yoan Moncada doubled to make it 9-6 Angels.
On to the bottom of the eleventh. Johnson stayed in to pitch and gave up a single to Victor Scott II to make it 9-7 Angels. Ryan Zeferjahn came in to pitch. Game over. 9-7 Angels.
