Angels Lose Rendon, Beat Braves Anyway

Jose Soriano faced the Braves on Friday. He went 3 and a third innings giving up 2 runs on 3 hits striking out 5 and walking 3. That’s bad. But it was by design? What? Yeah. Young arm means that they may be managing his workload. That is annoying as a fan.

What was also annoying was Jo Adell base running. It is like every time we feel good about him he messed up again. If the Angels lose it would be partly his fault. At least the Angels scored some runs this time, making it a game rather than a blow out.

But this was also Player’s Weekend, which meant doing some more fun stuff. Like a pencil bat.

And Logan having kids sign his stuff

That is what mattered, not the winning or the losing. At least for this team. Wins on the field are rare. It is time to get them off the field. Anyway, here are the highlights of this close one.

It was a pitching duel at first. Neither team doing much of anything. That is until the 4th.

Braves scored first in the 4th on a single.

And another on an infield single.

That knocked Soriano out as innings and pitching limits seem to be in play. That sucks.

What else sucked was that Rendon got HBP and left the game.

But the Angels did score in the 4th, with a Logan 2 run home run!

That is how it stayed for a bit. Even though the bullpen had a few close calls.

But then M-I-C-K-E-Y doubled in a run in the 6th!

Joyce came in for the save and he got it. Angels win 3-2!

2 more vs Braves this weekend. Then on the road to KC and Toronto. Irish Heritage night tomorrow. Yeah. I know. They do not advertise these things. Very annoying.
