Regarding Marsh and his struggles at the plate, I’d move him to the top of the order. He’ll get better pitches to hit, hitting in front of Trout and Ohtani. Put Ward in the Cleanup spot for more power in the heart of the Lineup. Keep playing MacKinnon at 3rd base.
All of this makes sense.
That would be a good move. MacKinnon at 3rd is a decent stopgap for the year,but really need to dump the auto out of a SS. Throw Duffy and Rengifo out there for now until Fletcher is ready. Then find a SS that can get on base.
I need to see more chances for MacKinnon at 3rd before I start jumping up and down. The book on him was that his fielding at 1st is stellar, but we need Walsh in the lineup. Badly.
Also: remember when Duffy could hit? Good times.
Just looking for some consistency. No one has stepped up to take 3b, ss or 2b since all the injuries. This team has lacked any kind of health and consistency over the years. Anyone is better than Wade and Velasquez at the moment.
