Patrick Sandoval came out to pitch today and turned this game into the mirror image of yesterday’s game. It was the Angels who kept on scoring while the Astros couldn’t.
There was no score until the second inning when Kurt Suzuki and Brandon Marsh combined to manufacture a one run lead. In the third inning Alex Bregman doubled in the tying run, which was unearned due to a Kurt Suzuki catcher interference.
In the fourth inning, Matt Duffy walked and then Jack Mayfield advanced him. Mayfield himself was thrown out trying to stretch a single into a double. Oh well. Jo Adell smashed a ball off the glove of Yuli Gurriel to make it 2-1 Angels.
In the fifth inning, Anthony Rendon singled, Taylor Ward singled leaving men on first and third.Matt Duffy single to make it 3-1 Angels. Jack Mayfield then got an RBI hit to make it 4-1 Angels. Not to be outdone, Kurt Suzuki doubled to make it 6-1 Angels whereupon Brandon Marsh singled to make it 7-1 Angels. There were still no outs at this point. Suck it Astros!
Moving on to the sixth, Andrew Velazquez singled and stole second while Shohei Ohtani and Taylor Ward struck out. Anthony Rendon then made the third out on a fly ball to right. Oh well. Anyway, the Astros again did nothing.
Jeremy Pena finally hit a two out solo homer in the seventh inning to make it 7-2 Angels.
That was the final score. The Astros are not unbeatable. Disport yourselves accordingly.

I am liking Velazquez at shortstop. Don’t know if he can hit over the long-term but I like the defense.
Hey Astros!
freaking out during the lows is part of the exhilaration of the highs
Great smallball played by the by-players!
The not-ready-for-prime-time players ?
Win tomorrow and we are 3-4 v. Cheat City
When we win tomorrow, we will be 3-4 vs the Asstros.
Good game and good road trip.
I think we might be a Problem Child for the Ass’tros this season

Yeah we back
How the eff is Oakland starting out so well? They gutted their team!
Their offense is doing what we all thought they could not. When a cool down came the pitching was working it.
Agree. They always seem to get so lucky. Even when their roster sucks they seem to pull out wins in these close games…
Love beating Houston!!
1st Place!
That was fantabulous!!!!
Always great to beat the Asstros. Now let’s hope Mike is healthy enough to play tomorrow and let’s win the damn series!!
Yay!!!!
Angels Win!
My takeaway from this game is that Houston missed having Altuve in their lineup more than we missed having Trout in ours.
So Altuve is more of an MVP than Trout?
That is not at all what I said.
😉
No, the trashcans are
I actually agree with Lana here about Altuve. They are just better with him in the line up. Good win just the same.
LTBU!
