Angels defeat Yankees 6-4. Yay!

My computer is not cooperating today. Sorry for the abbreviated postgame. The Angels ran wild on the bases and did some timely hitting for a change. They almost managed to give it away in the late innings but still came away with the win. Bring out the shufflebot!

Spoiling the Yankees (even a little bit) is always very very nice.

Beating the Yankees is always great.

Elvis absolutely needs to leave the building. The guy makes me miss Heaney

That kind of depends on the rest of the pen doing their jobs, doesn’t it?

Without Raisel this year this team would probably be 10 games under .500

I know many are not hot on Iglesias, but I don’t mind him. One of the things I actually like is how excited he gets for the others as they walk back to the dugout after a big play. We’ve got much bigger fish to fry in my opinion.

I agree. There’s a lot to like about J Inglesias. But, he seems prone to making errors on the routine plays.

It looks like Maddon is giving Captain Jack a look at SS for evaluation.

I wonder if the Angels are really thinking Mayfield is the solution to SS next year over Inglesias.

Wins against the yankees feel like playoff wins. We’ll get that feeling again winning playoff games next season. 🤘

I just don’t care about the Astros. Anyone who thinks they were or are the only team cheating is a fool. My hate battery is only big enough for three, maybe 4 teams and Houston just doesn’t have the years and years of asshole in them to qualify.

On the head of the nail.

Houston sucks dirty balls worse than the Pin Stripes, the Dodgers, or Boston.

So Raisel – 90 Ks and 9 walks this season. That’s unbelievable.

Lock him up. Show him the money. (Can’t imagine finding another closer on the market – we need Duracell).

gitchogritchoffmypettis

Man, he is gonna COST. Nothin close to him on the market. But I’d honestly be OK with it, best closer track record to hit the Market since Chapman. Rather pay him than say Stroman.

Hendricks ended up with a 4-year 54M deal. Is that the standard we are basing Iglesias on? Would we pay that?

I agree, rather 13-14 a year for Duracell than Stroman, imo. (Though we need a top starter too).

gitchogritchoffmypettis

It makes sense right? Raisel’s track record is better/longer than Hendricks with fewer options on the market this year. If I’m his agent I tell teams we are starting the bids with Hendricks deal.

Weird win. Barely a win. Almost as many runs as hits and walks? That’s not gritty or old school. I say give them 75% of a win. How did we survive pitching THAT crappy?

I can’t wait to fart on my NYC co-worker’s coffee tomorrow.

hey! My comment was the last in the game thread so let’s make it early in the post-game. I’m gonna re-post it here. Right now.

I was cooking, following the game but unable to post, then eating that dinner so whatever you were thinking when Peguero started the 8th I was thinking that, too. And whatever you were thinking when Gas Can came in I was thinking that, too. And then!!!! when Petricka came in…yikes. I was thinking just what you were thinking. I’m very very surprised he didn’t give up a 3 run dinger

I was thinking the exact same thing.

Damn.

Joe, what are you doing….????

Elvis for one inning. OK, he got through it. But to bring him in for another innings….

WTF!

Then to bring in Jr. G with 2 on made me think Joe is looking to lose a game for a better draft position.

Jr. sucks it up big time as expected and then Joe gives the ball to Petricka – now I’m certain Joe is wanting to lose this one big time – maybe he’s good friend with Aaron Boone.

Well, I guess I owe Joe Maddon an apology because it worked. Two wins against the Yankees. I guess we’re playing spoiler now.

Love some of the action in this game. Especially Walsh and the Goose with the clutch hits, the double steal, and, for what’s it’s worth, THE BULLPEN HELD THE LEAD…!!!!
