Does Ohtani speak English? He seems to be talking to teammates without a translator. And I don’t think any of them speak Japanese.
Trout, who hasn’t had any really exotic Japanese food, says Ohtani’s English is improving.
Learning a language is so hard, especially coming from Japanese. Pretty impressive that he’s able to do that while devoting so much to his craft too! Even more so that he has to practice pitching as well as hitting.
