The Angels have the opportunity to take what would be a much-needed series win against the Mariners. Max Stassi sits on the bench.
Mariners Lineup: Crawford 6, Haniger 9, France 3, Seager 5, Murphy 2, Nottingham DH, Trammell 8, Mayfield 4, Walton 7. Gilbert 1.
Angels Lineup: Upton 7, Ohtani DH, Rendon 5, Walsh 3, Lagares 8, Iglesias 6, Ward 9, Suzuki 2, Fletcher 4. Sandoval 1.
Too many bad relievers on this team. Otherwise it would have been a win.
Yea, but next game the SP could give up 6 in the 1st inning, get pulled, and the relievers will come through, allowing us to lose, 8-2.
So, there’s that.
Until fans stop supporting Moreno and he loses money then maybe things will change.
He can’t lose money because of the TV contract. The worst he can do is break even, and that is the plan.
This whole thing with the Angels and the stadium, is just an investment. He purchased the team for $180 million, and it is now has an estimated value of $2.025 billion.
He paid $150 million for the stadium that was worth an estimate $500 million at the time of purchase in 2019. He won’t even pay the $150 million being that it is defered so long and with stipulations that interest on the money he is holding will eventually pay it off itself.
Well, I tumble outta bed and stumble to the kitchen
Pour myself a cup of ambition
Yawn and stretch and try to come to life
Jump in the shower and the blood starts pumping
Out on the street, the traffic starts jumping
With the Angels and us losing 9 to 5
That’s a game they could have won. Oh well.
‘With every out registered, the task becomes a little tougher.”
Thanks for stating the obvious Sutton
Cogent analysis by Sutton.
“A key to the game is scoring more runs than the opponents score off of you.”
You would think having a Dad as a top notch baseball player would have given him a little more insight into the game.
It feels like he is talking down to us to ‘teach’ us the game. I don’t like it.
The guy in the Angels dugout with his mask below his nose reminds me of that submarine with a screen door.
“I’m willing to inhale your deadly virus, but am being courteous in protecting you from inhaling the one I might have already.” Interesting!
Walsh Ks on 3 pitches for his 3rd strikeout of the game: 1 out
NOW: the fuhgeddaboudit level of our lineup.
We can win this game
We can but we won’t.
This is the Middleton I remember
Grip it and get ripped
Where was that with the bases loaded?
I mean…
This umpire’s calls are completely random.
This reliever the Ms have, with a 2.6 ERA? Not bad. I wish we could get guys like that.
He is just what we have, giving up runs when he shouldn’t be
Correction: 3.12 ERA now.
?
Correction: 3.63 ERA now.
Thanks for the update.
Like a whole run added on a lazy afternoon
I hear the Doyers have a vet 1b who just cracked his 9th HR they just picked up off waivers for the MLB minimum.
Prorated minimum.
No thanks. Don’t want his .200 batting average.
He just couldn’t hit the AL, duh
Whenever you bring the closer into a non-closing situation this is always what happens. Even when the Angels are hitting.
They cut his line, poor dumb ass Sutton
Jake Fraley may as well be Harmon Killebrew for us. Jeeeez.
On the rally monkey‘s birthday we might need a rally ape.
Is this finally the game where we just fire everybody, and start from scratch. Nah.
“No rebuilding.” AM
Fire Maddon! Fire Perry! Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!
Next time he’ll hire the right people!
Lol….. he’s had a few shots at that and has failed every time.
Correct
When the going gets bad, Sutton starts talking about crickets inside his house.
Where other people have termites or cockroaches, Don Sutton’s Son has crickets. And what a racket!
It’s a perfect metaphor because that’s what he causes as a result of his broadcasting.
I didn’t see that metaphor, and you’re correct. But still: he’s DON SUTTON’S SON!
Free run.
We’re basically going to hover between five and eight games back of Oakland all year.
WOW! Talk about optimistic!
Historically speaking
We needed this series. Disappointing.
