How do the A’s (also less talented ) win 13 straight games? It is not just the talent on the field but the whole culture and atomosphere of an organization that sets the tone.
I’m not defending the decision to pull CRod, but they scored one goddamn run, and they only scored it on a play where they didn’t hit the ball. If you’re managing to win 1-0, you’re not going to win very many games. I don’t understand why he was pulled, but they lost because they can’t hit when the game is still in question.

I get what you are saying, but we had the lead. If it was tied that’s alot different.
Good teams will win most of the time they take a 1 run lead into the 7th. If your bullpen can’t close a 1 run game going into the7th a large majority of the time you are not a very good team.
The sad thing is….. when we’re completely out of contention and the season is essentially over the angels will go on a worthless tear.

I feel in like alternate universe Arte didn’t hand over the keys to his castle to an f’ing intern. He gets a legit GM. He gets to the winter meetings on time, signs Beltre who wanted to play here, and they never end up signing Hamilton and we have a few extra championships. Feels like they are still playing catch up to the insanity like trading for Vernon Wells on what was thought to be an immovable contract.
You make it look so easy. There is just so much more of this story to be told.

The fact that we are even playing Gosselin though, who as mentioned early is 32 years old and for 5 straight years has run a negative WAR is just about the most depressing thing I can think of, that Perry was like lets see what he’s got.
