Royals @ Angels Spring Training Gamethread 03/19/21

It looks like most of the starters are resting today. Of course, that doesn’t stop David Fletcher from drawing in.

Love Dylan Bundy today. He is a pitcher working the zone.

Let’s hope he can improve his D like he has improved at the plate. If so, he has potential for a late season call up or 2022.

It’s up to him…..

Remember him on Cleveland? Is it just age that makes performance dip so incredibly in a short amount of time??

Adell maybe should go to AA. His D is a huge issue.

His purported defense prowess has to be one of the biggest misinformation campaigns in MLB history. Despite speed, athleticism etc he seems to have no concept or instincts for defensive jumps positioning or route running . It’s like watching a track star trying to convert into a NFL wide receiver or Usain Bolt trying to be a soccer player as a second career only Jo has supposedly been playing the game since early childhood .

Also is it me or does he look slower than he should be running down the line? That GIDP shouldn’t have been completed.Shohei looks like he would smoke him in a foot race

The lack of intangibles – such as instinct – is glaring. To get over that requires hard work and repetition. Hopefully he will do that in the minors this season.

Adell is a soup sandwich. I think we are all hoping he can turn it around and be anything close to all the hype he was led up to potentially be. He’s still a prospect. My vitriol tends to be towards the overpaid, underperformers

Went back and read his high school bio, scouting reports, Baseball America…etc. He was a CF before turning pro and CF coming up through the Angels farm. Scouting reports said he had strong D. So what gives? Must be suffering from the yips and confidence level is gone. Not giving up on him, play him where he is comfortable and give him time. We have no other choice . Tough to watch…

It is tough to watch. Thanks for the updates on past commentary about him. Here’s to him figuring ‘it’ out sooner than later!

I guess my suggestion of a position change went down the clubhouse toilet. This is embarrassing. I never saw him in the minors but you cannot get to top prospect status with performances like he has displayed in the majors. Get him off the field and send him over to the practice facility.

Didn’t he play center coming up through high school and the rookie leagues? We know he cannot play right.

This site will provide more entertainment than this lineup today. Not a bad thing

Carlos Carrasco out for a couple of months for the Mets. In a way it’s good that we sign question marks like Quintana (who I think will be good) and Cobb (who I’m a bit doubtful of) because if they get arm injuries it’s not a much of a blow. But lordy, I hope they don’t!
