As the World Series plays out, regular season award finalists are being revealed. Today the finalists for the Gold Gloves were announced. Exactly one Angel got on the list this year, Griffin Canning. No nomination for David Fletcher though. Image from @Angels Twitter.
For the AL, the White Sox has the most nominations with 5 at 4 positions. The NL has the Cubs getting the most, with 7 at 6 positions. Interestingly, the Rays who are renowned for their defense, did not receive a nomination at all.

We knew Jo Adell wasn’t going to get a nomination.
Fletch’s lack of one position likely hurt him. If they had an all-around category he would clearly win.
Canning is the only Angel. Wow.
And Calhoun didn’t get an NL nom. I must not have been paying too much attention this year, because I never noticed that Canning was an exceptional fielder.
