Indians on a tightrope that is burning at both ends.

2 down. If they lose it’ll be because they didn’t pad the lead in the 8th and then blew the game in the 9th.

Sutcliffe is really good.

The real reason that I do not like when MLB allows so many teams into the playoffs is what Houston accomplished today. Having a terrible record during the regular season and catching lightning in a bottle now. This year I don’t really care because it’s just a messed up very forgettable year. But I love the fact that the regular season is so long anything can happen and usually does. It’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon and lot’s of different strategy depending on who is in and who is out, rookie surprises, great plays, winning and losing streaks etc. Also read today Manfred wants the runner on second from now on! This man is going to really screw the game up,

Any idea what the ratings are? If they are high, gear the Manfred.

Better keystone for the Angels next year:

Simba/Fletcher
Fletcher/Wong
Fletcher/ Hernandez
Didi/Fletcher

I agree.

Having Simba back on team would be good, but I think he may still be having ankle issues or we would have resigned him. But if I wrong then the team would know if there is an issue and could go after him. But Jeff brings up a good idea at keeping Fletch at SS and finding a 2b. I am Fletcher’s biggest fan and believe he is a better fielder at 2b.

I can see because of money using Rennt and hoping he works out and then getting one of the six the following winter. Maddon may want Baez, or Lindor the “Prize” along with Story (The Colo. connection may hold the money down there). And Didi is not a real good fielder and is aging.

Here’s the thing, we only need one of Simba, Semien, Didi, LeMahui, Wong, Hernandez, Schoop (had a good year this year) to have their market crater and look to sign cheaply. Rengifo is a great utility guy behind them.

Angels can shop for pitching all they want and let the market play itself out.

LeMahieu would be sweet batting first, then Fletch followed by Trouty and Rendon.

What about Soto? We’re talking about a .429 lifetime hitter. 155 OPS+

I wonder if we don’t keep him around, unless of course you mean that kid in Washington as that would work too…..lol

I’m getting “Dizzy” (Tommy Roe) trying to see all the games at once, my remote only can give me the option of switching quickly between 2 games and I have to remember a third. Bauer was a stud today, Twins have been hit with the Ugly Stick (Marvin Gaye) What’s Going On, A’s hold on and take the White Sox and good for our division, today has been way to much fun. Enjoy everyone.

I’ve loved it today! Although, only 1 game so far has gone the way I was rooting. (I’m rooting for Atlanta.)

I too like the Braves, hope it’s them and the Doyers for the Championship series.

I feel for the Padres. They remind me a little of the 2014 Angels team that had a great regular season and then seemingly half of their pitching staff got hurt in the last few weeks of the season. Clevinger and Lamet going down sucks for them.

Well, the Cardinals aren’t going to shed any tears. They’ve had more than their share of their own problems, but yeah.

True, they’re also dealing with a ton of injuries. The Padres were just really good during the season while the Cardinals were very mediocre and wouldn’t have made the postseason in any other season.

Oh yeah, that’s definitely true. The Cardinals were lucky to make the playoffs where San Diego was one of the best teams in baseball.

Freaking 4 runs in the first inning? Come on, Padres! You can get eliminated all too easily playing like that.

oof, 7-0! Tampa. I hate it when a team can be eliminated and get so far behind so soon that they have to play 7 more innings with that sick feeling in their stomachs.

That was brutal. If it was a fight the ref would’ve just called it off at that point in time.

You know, I do start feeling really bad in situations like that. Need a mercy rule.

Wait, don’t let Manfred hear that.

I find I’m rooting for Oakland just because of 2005. So rooting against Chisox, really

I’d forgotten about 2005. Thanks for reminding me, ha ha. My gut instinct is to root against our division rivals (I do remember the Bash Bros).

I don’t get Angel fans liking the A’s. They’ve been a thorn in our side for years. The A’s are terrible people, all of them.

I’m not a huge White Sox fan (the stink of AJ Pierzynski lingers yet), but I’d rather root for AJ Pierzynski’s lingering musk than for the freaking A’s.

I think I don’t mind as much because we haven’t been competing in living memory. If we had actually been fighting them for the division title or something, I’d hate them and want them gone. As it is, since we haven’t been in the playoffs for generations, it’s hard to feel like anyone is our rival.

“Living memory”? “generations”? You keep using these words, but I do not think they mean what you think they mean. Yes, our battles with the A’s were much stronger in the 2000’s (which is in everyone here’s living memory), but they’ve been intense during the Trout era as well. We’ve finished behind them the last few seasons, and 2012 was a tough one as well.
