Griffin Canning pitched to a career high 10 Ks tonight to help lead the Angels over the Padres.
Of course you can’t win without scoring runs and Max Stassi was the man for the job. Stassi was 4 for 4 with 2 HRs and 3 RBIs and Fabian Ardaya posted this surprising tidbit:
Stassi wasn’t the only one who had a strong game. Taylor Ward went 2 for 4 with a double and 2 runs scored and Luis Rengifo was 2 for 3 with the team’s only non-Stassi RBI.
The Angels out hit, out slugged, and out pitched the playoff bound Padres. Baseball sure is weird sometimes. Enjoy the victory!
