Angels at Rangers 09/08/2020 Gamethread

This is definitely a lineup. Lance Lynn is on the bump for Texas, but Andrew Heaney can mow down their hitters. If he does, the Angels have a good shot.

Angels Lineup: Simmons 6, Thaiss 4, Trout 8, Rendon 5, Ohtani 10, Upton 7, Stassi 2, Walsh 3, Adell 9. Heaney 1.

Rangers Lineup: Taveras 8, Kiner-Falefa 5, Solak 10, Gallo 9, Trevino 2, Andrus 6, Guzmán 3, Tejeda 4, White 7. Lynn 1.

some things never change
Angels and bad pitching, bad player scouting and development ( Jo Adell almost misplayed that flyball hit to him…..misplays flyballs as if they’re a armed and loaded grenade ). ME 3…..FORMER HH NATION 1 ( you guys were right about Dylan Bundy )

Yeah but they are real athletic, very toolsy! /s

Adell was not aware he had two strikes on him. He will probably work out in the long run, but it does show how bad the player development in the organization is.

I like Adell, but he seems a little cocky now.

The number 1 reason for mlb expansion is so the Angels don’t have to have Texas in their damn division anymore.

I have mixed feelings about Portland getting a team. If that happens I think I’d prefer it to be an NL club so it wouldn’t conflict with the Angels.

As a recent transplant to Vancouver,WA from SoCal, I too share similar feelings. Would love for baseball to have a home here, but would be hard if they were in the same division. Then again, a lot easier to see the Angels I guess!

Tonights plate umpire is just proof that another union cannot police itself and remove those that cannot do the job. If this kind of umpiring brings the Robo Umps that just takes another piece of the game away.

Maybe it is the Mariners turnaround and we only thought it was Angels because Houston needs to lose.

it drives me crazy when we’ve just been handed a walk and the pitcher is on fumes, to swing at the first pitch.

Houston lost the first game of their doubleheader and is losing Game 2. The Yankees also lost. The Angels had a real shot to gain even more ground tonight but that doesn’t look like a reality.

Pirates tied and R/S leading, but are chances are pretty slim of getting back into that race.

sad, because Skanks lost and are 21-21 and Oakland will likely take two from Houston which will put the Cheaters at 21-22. We could have been 3 1/2 behind them.

he was going to be one of our key bullpen pieces. It just shows how volatile pitching can be from one year to the next.

GrandpaBaseball

Yes and he did basically come out of nowhere and was a gift so to speak, but still we use him now and it hurts.

And next year he might be real good again.

uhhh….that’s not good. But now we’ve got 3 innings against a not-so-hot bullpen, or a tired Lynn.

Fuck it, who wants to see a f ing cheater break a record that was earned. Why do cheaters interest those in MLB. Put him in the Hall and just come out and show MLB approves cheating. Mark f ing McCheat.

I take it you think McGwire is a cheater? Is that right?
