The Los Angeles/California/Anaheim Angels have played almost 60 seasons of baseball. As the baseball world is suspended due to circumstances outside its control, it is time to look back at the history of this organization. There have been many talented players to put on the uniform, and we at Crashing the Pearly Gates wish to highlight the best who have ever represented the Angels. Without further ado, here we go!

In a short amount of time, David Fletcher has gone from “that guy doesn’t have starter potential” to a cult favorite. How does that happen? David Fletcher has become larger than life. The Twitter world even managed to get him trending. The Twitter love apparently has no bounds. Go ahead search for “David Fletcher” and enjoy the results.
BREAKING: Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim utility man David Fletcher has tested positive for most underrated player in the league.— Jo Adell SZN 🔥🔥🔥 (@HaloNation335) March 15, 2020
Fletcher is a man of few words as both Jeff Joiner and I have discovered in interviews. He lets his playing speak for himself. The guy lives, eats, and breaths baseball and that has catapulted him deep into Angels lore in such a short amount of time.
The @d22fletcher mic’d up content we deserve. 🙌🙌 pic.twitter.com/dte5ZZuqN1— Los Angeles Angels (@Angels) February 28, 2020
In two seasons and 890 ABs, Fletcher has racked up 6.8 bWAR. His sophomore effort was huge with a 4.5 bWAR (2nd to Mike Trout) and a .350 OBP. All this from a guy whose best asset is his defense.
Seriously considering my second sports jersey.
David is definitely a quiet guy. He didn’t even make a speech at his high school jersey retirement ceremony. He’ll loosen up a little more around family and is always very nice to my son and wife.
Getting to know him and his family has definitely been one of the highlights of writing about the Angels.
Fletcher higher than Ohtani? That’s kind of a shock to me.
few hundred more ABs = more WAR.
When I think of David Fletcher two words come to mind: Contact and Utility.
Fletch can play 6 positions, get on base with the best of them, hustle like a son-of-a-gun, and bring a positive attitutde with him to the stadium every game. What’s not to like about him? I’d put him higher in the list.
I think he’s going to have a great career, but this is way too early. Sorry Fletch.
Play him at 2nd everyday and have him lead off and he sure as heck will fly higher up this list forthwith.
may happen if LaStella can gain us value in a trade
That tweet lost credibility with the addition of “of Anaheim”
top 10 personal Angels highlights. I don’t remember the end of this game, I only listened to a little of it on the radio. My wife and I were on our honeymoon in our hotel in Laguna Beach. “I’ll be down in a few minutes, honey”, I said. I listened to a half inning then went down to the water. But it’s a biggie for me because of the circumstances. 42+ years later we’re still very happily married. Apparently Bobby Bonds must have knocked in a couple in the 9th to win.

Of course I am a proud member of the CULT.
He’s currently my favorite Halo after Trouty, gave my grandson a personalized autograph on a ball in KC last year. Class act and a really good player.
I miss him too FB
