6-5 Loss Postgame

The Angels had a few of brain farts in the first two innings. Kyren Paris kind of muffed a ball he should have caught in the first inning. Christian Moore got picked off into a run down and Tyler Heineman should have gotten a runner out at home in the second inning but he was positioned incorrectly. The Nationals had a four run lead to show for two innings.

The third inning was uneventful. The Angels went three up three down on a whole eight pitches in the top of the fourth. Jorbit Vivas hit a one out ground rule double and advanced to third on a ground out to Urena. Walbert walked the next two batters but managed to get the third out on the ground to Neto.

Inning 5:

Kyren Paris struck out and Tyler Heineman lined out to right. Zach Neto flied out to right. CJ Abrams singled and then was caught stealing second base.

Brady House flied out to center. Daylen Lile hit into a 3-1 ground out.

Inning 6:

Mike Trout contributed his second strikeTroutTM of the game. Jose Siri doubled to on a liner to left and advanced to third on a Vaughn Grissom line out. Christian Moore popped out to first to strand Siri at third. Kiebert Ruiz singled on a soft grounder to third. Jorbit Vivas struck out. So did Jacob Young. Kiebert Ruiz advanced to second base on a balk and then James Wood struck out looking.

Inning 7:

Oswald Peraza grounded out to the shortstop. Denzer Guzman flied out to left. Kyren Paris struck out looking. Blake Weiman came in to pitch for Urena. He got pinch hitter Andres Chapparo out on one pitch. He got Dylan Crews out on one pitch as well. CJ Abrams grounded out to first.

Inning 8:

Tyler Heineman yielded to pinch hitter Moises Ballesteros who struck out. Zach Neto grounded out. Mike Trout walked. Whew! Wade Meckler pinch hit for Jose Siri. He hit a gap double and Mike Trout scored. 4-1 Nationals.

Vaughn Grissom homered. 4-3 Angels.

Christian Moore grounded out to second.

Brady House flied out to right. So did Daylen Lile. Kiebert Ruiz singled on a grounder to right. Andrew Pinkney came in to pinch run. Jorbit Vivas struck out swinging.

Inning 9:

Oswald Peraza walked. Denzer Guzman doubled to make it 4-4. This was the 39th blown save by Nationals pitchers.

Kyren Paris grounded out to the pitcher Will Dion. Moises Ballesteros was batting when Dion uncorked a wild pitch to put Guzman on third with one out. He scored on a Ballesteros sac fly. 5-4 Angels.

Now Jack Sinclair came in to pitch. Zach Neto hit a come-backer for the third out. Ben Joyce came for the Angels save opportunity. Pinch hitter Jose Tena walked. James Wood struck out but Tena broke for second base. The throw by Ballesteros was not good and went into center field. Tena made it to third with one out. Andres Chapparo got a hit to take the save away from Joyce. 5-5 tie. Holy crap! Mike Trout probably robbed a homer from Dylan Crews. CJ Abrams lined out to Lowe. Extra inning baseball.

Inning 10:

Zach Neto started off at second with Mike Trout batting. Trout walked again. Wade Meckler grounded into a force out to second. Neto made it to third. Vaughn Grissom struck out. Christian Moore grounded out to third. Brutal! Jose Fermin came in to pitch and got the first batter to fly out on one pitch. He intentionally walked the next guy. The Nationals executed a successful double steal. Zach Neto clanked an easy grounder to hand the Nationals a walk off 6-5 victory.

Loss 100 at home is still in play. Gotta lose 10 straight and we have currently lost 2 in a row. Need 8 more consecutive. I saw the 100th win in person, maybe I can see the 100th loss in person, too.

Sad, but great recap Charles. Thank you.

At least Neto makes up for his defensive deficiencies with his stellar offense.

Jesus H Christ on a popsicle stick. Not only is the Wisconsin Badger game pre-empted for UCLA, but Wayne Randazo is calling the game. Fuck my life.

Why would you try and backhand that ball, Zach?

Exactly. Little League coaches around here lose their minds when they see that, a high school coach will bench you.
