Some days you just KNOW it will be bad. Maybe you woke up with a stiff neck, or you hit every red light on the way to work, or maybe you burnt your tongue while drinking your morning coffee. Whatever the case, you realize early on that today was gonna suck and then, in fact, it did.
That is what Angels fans felt when it was announced that today was going to be a bullpen day. Because this bullpen, this year, on this team is just horrendous. Meanwhile, Cleveland had the 4th best record in the AL this year so far. It was a recipe for disaster.
Sure, maybe, just MAYBE the bats can hit enough to overcome it, and that this pitcher with an ERA of 3.12 this year has a bad day somehow, and that things will go right? Surely the Angels were due, or something, that is how this works… right?
Yeah, no. Not really, no, no. The Angels bats were as cold as the Ohio weather. Which, to be honest, was the norm these days for this team. Those runs yesterday were fool’s gold or something, as the cold reality hit us all in the face. Funny enough, the Angels technically have an above average OPS+ as a team.

Alek Manoah was the bulk pitcher, and he did fine. He went 5 innings, giving up no runs on 2 hits, striking out 2 and walking 5. So, the Angels pitched backwards, blowing the game early to let the starter finish it?
Humiliation Recap in Video form
Luckily, for me, not for the Angels, the runs they allowed came in bunches. Like a 2 run single in the 2nd.
And a 5 run 3rd.
What did not help is that, again, the Angels were bad at ABS challenges, losing both by the 3rd inning.
But was there ANYTHING positive today? Well, Jo Adell caught a ball good.
The Angels finally scored in the 8th, and it was Jo Adell again with a single.
And they score another in the 9th
But they still lose.
Upcoming
Angels have two more in Ohio before coming home to face the Dodgers. Oh joy…
