Good: velocity constant at 97-98, made it through three innings on 51 pitches, probably good for a 5+ inning outing with 3-4 runs surrendered in the regular season, induced five whiffs, though a fair amount of contract was also made. First inning he induced a couple GBs with the sinker, but also got lucky on some poorly commanded pitches later in the game.
Bad: he was nowhere near the zone through much of the outing, only 26 of 51 pitches were strikes, and some of those were OOZ reaches that were fouled off. The first solo HR was a meatball down the plate, just bad command, and the second was a slider that sort of slopped into Thomas’s wheelhouse.
Or in any case, I think that’s the truth. You might have meant it in a different way. 🙂
I definitely meant truth in a looser slang type of way haha.
Had the same takeaway in regards to Klassen’s lack of control/command. Loved seeing his changeup generate whiffs — quietly effective for a pitch he’s only been working on for a short period.
If Klassen gets just marginally better he could be a solid starter with an all-Star appearance here or there. If he gets much better and can fine tune his control, this dude could be special. His change piece is wicked
SUCK IT MARINERS
HAHAHAHA, Mariners losing to THESE guys
The C squad with the comeback!
TIED GAME!
The wheels seem to be coming off here in the later innings.
Listening on Sirius XM. Don’t know who the color guy is but he’s a lot better than Bobby Valentine.
This Mariners broadcast is kinda incompetent. Not the announcers so much but the production
Klassen is the truth
Kind of a muddled/middling outing to be honest.

But they should obviously keep pushing him – their current rotation options are few.

Zeferjahn is having a rough time today.
Candelario dropping a bomb
It’s funny to look at small sample size statistics. O’Hoppe has .929 slugging this Spring
Obviously that means he’s the GOAT lol
A walk is better than nothing.
Double crap!
Crap!
Double crap!
Moore having a good game so far
He had a nice defensive play to end the first
I wonder if he ends up there rather than 2nd long term
