The Dodgers defeated the Yankees for the third time in a row.
This link is Rob Manfred discussing the stadium situation of the Florida Marlins. They are supposed to stay in their market, even if St. Petersburg won’t repair their field. They could end up playing at a spring training facility. Will Venable and Craig Albernaz are the two finalists for the managerial vacancy with the Marlins.
Chris Devenski got himself a minor league deal with the New York Mets. The Reds designated left-hander Brandon Leibrandt and infielder Ahmed Rosario for assignment.
Salvador Perez won the Roberto Clemente Award for philanthropy this year.

MLB only has seven questions for the Angels? Let’s do the math: nine positions, subtract Neto and O’Hoppe, and we’re at seven, makes sense, I guess.
I know it’s just one loss for that team against the MFYs, but I was really looking forward to videos of MFY fans in tears last night. And seriously, shouldn’t grabbing a baseball player while they’re on the field mean prison time? The guy actually planned it with friends beforehand! Time to get tougher on stupid.
“[Los Angeles] Police on alert to keep the peace during World Series celebrations”
Per the story, LAPD will crack down on unruly celebrations. I find this online story tagline completely off base and surprising…..
Couches will burn……so will cars.
Shouldn’t they always be on alert?
Why, the DA only gives out wrist slaps.
Okay, is it time to talk about trading Rendon?
Is it too early?
Get on that trade sim. Find a trade partner. If you can actually pull it off you’ll have a hell of a IIWPM.
Literally, I can only find three players that you can do a strait trade for. One is Mike Trout. Yay. The others are Kris Bryant and Javier Baez.
You MAY be able to get a low prospect or two off Detroit or Colorado if you send them money with Rendon. But an owner/GM would only pull a clunker of a pointless trade like this if they desperately want him out of the clubhouse. I don’t get that sense from anyone but pissy CtPG Guy.
Oh, come on… It’s not like he’s Vernon Wells.
LOL, I as being facetious man, however, some always goes there sincerely.
Too Late, he’s untradable.
IMHO, the Yanks borrow a pair tonight and eke out a last great act of defiance win and then Wednesday night the Dodgers become WS Champs.
However, former Halos employee #17 will be unable to give high fives.
I’m surprised those nut-less dogs are a -135 favorite tonight.
After watching 3 games of crying Yankee fans
I need 3 games of crying dodger fans
And a Winner take all game 7
Bottom photo is Astros series’ Game 7 ??
The postseason always exposes why we are who we are. Dodgers only homegrown players are Will Smith, Gavin Lux, and Kiki Hernandez. As I mentioned before Alex Verdugo is only player of any substance that the Dodgers have surrendered for Yu Darvish, Manny Machado and Mookie Betts. So basically they’re somehow aquiring top talent for a bag of Doritos.
You forgot Trea Turner and Max S for nothing. Masters of ripping teams off for prospects that don’t turn out. Ever since the billionaire boys club bought team from McCourt they have been. WS favorites and won division every year by $$$ and lopsided trades. Remember that first transaction adding like 100mil to payroll for Gonzales, Beckett, Crawford? Another rip trade w/ Sox.
It takes two to make a trade. If the other teams over valued the Dodgers prospects that is on them.
In the trade with the Roid Sux, LA took on a ton of salary.
Apparently the A’s situation back in the 70s with Charlie Finley doesn’t apply to the Dodgers of today! Remember the late A’s owner was selling off his star players for cash.
Cash had to come from somewhere Still takes two to tango.
Tango and Cash? I see what you did there.
Yea, Kiki was with the Astros and Marlins for years before being homegrown with the dodgers
Kiki ain’t all that. We’re not talking Ronald Acuna level here. I don’t think anyone would be stressed out over Kiki Hernandez hurting his shoulder as opposed to Ohtani.
They did make something from Max Muncy and Chris Taylor too…. and that red headed balding guy…. Oh, Turner…. in the past.
Watching the WS reinforces how awful the umping and replay decisions are. So many missed balls and strikes and the Lux call at the plate was dreadful because he was both safe and blocked. What a shit show. The plate ump was low ranked during the regular season and should never have been given this assignment.
Salvador Perez is a whole lot of everything that is good about baseball. Really good player, really good teammate, and most importantly really good about making a positive impact on as many lives as possible.
He’s a guy who falls a bit short of HOF numbers, but that I would vote into the HOF.
This is risky, disagreeing with Jeff, but I’m going to have to disagree with the HoF implication. I would say he’s solid, but not an HoF guy.
Disagree with me at will. And in this case I can clearly see the argument against him.
I also remember KC being a doormat for a long time and see Salvy as a big key in bringing the fans back to Kaufmann, staying with the team when most of the core left, and I weight those things more than most voters.
I kind of think there should be some reward or recognition for a career like that.
Defintiely a local hero.
If he has another couple good seasons in him he’ll likely creep into the HOF. He’d be one of the “best in era” type guys since a catcher who can catch and hit has been so rare while he played. I’d say if he eeks out 50 WAR for his career he’s likely to get in. Especially as a Royal.
He’s great. I love that guy. It’s why I have been interested in the Royals for so long…. plus now the kids….
Any MLB player that jumps into a kid’s neighborhood stickball game is a beast to me.
Ever since I saw was that video of Yankees fans sitting in some big room lustfully cheering Ohtani’s injury, I have been rooting for the Doyers to crush them, which is currently happening. They have the worst fans, and I’m thoroughly enjoying their collective misery.
They are secretly owned by Darth Vader… The Evil Empire.

So we have the Evil Blue Empire vs. the Evil Pinstriped Empire.
It’s wild that I have to have insurance for my house, but there’s no insurance in Florida for a stadium? Kind of a sad statement when two teams are playing in stadiums that don’t exactly scream MLB caliber. I get that one’s due to a natural hurricane and the other because of a dumbass owner, but shouldn’t things be a bit different for professional baseball?
With the team playing the MFYs up 3-0 in the World Series, I’m the happiest I’ve been all year with baseball. I usually don’t take joy in other fans’ pain, but there’s something truly satisfying about those MFY tears on TikTok.
Funny enough, I was half expecting talk of trading the “untradeable” Trout after Ohtani gets his ring, and it came up just the day before.
What is crazy is I know for a fact many other stadiums have insurance. My brother in law spent a decade or more appraising things like stadiums and libraries for insurance. He worked on the appraisal of the Big A.
So to have a structure that size in the hurricane hotbed of Florida without insurance seems crazy UNLESS the yearly premium was so insanely high that repairs every few years are likely cheaper. A calculated gamble, but one they might have taken.
Thanks Jeff, now I feel guilty for disagreeing with you about Salvador Perez.
Ha ha, I’m in the minority on Salvador Perez and I know it.
Maybe we kick out David Ortiz and let Salvy in?
I love what Papi did against the MFY, but when looking at his stats close up and being a DH, I could see the argument for that.
Enough of Trout trade talk, it’s getting obvious mlb media just want Angels to be irrelevant and be one of those teams that feed players to bigger revenue clubs. Nobody wants his salary and it makes zero sense to trade him and pay while he’s on another club. Honestly can only see the Dodgers offering a decent package of prospects and picking up most of his salary. But fuk them, it’s just another way for them to Sho us up and Arte certainly would never deal with them. Im content with Trout staying for the long haul. Maybe that’s why Arte is still in ‘contend’ mode. He made a promise to Trout he would not go full rebuild.
Trout has negative trade value. He’s highly paid and can’t stay on the field. The only way for Trout to get traded is for Arte to eat the vast majority of the contract.
If I’m going to pay a franchise icon to either play for me or for somebody else, I’m keeping him in the fold all day every day.
Logic…what a concept!!
And Big Baseball keeps proving it doesn’t know that word. I’m 75 and don’t expect baseball to implode before I die, but the idiots currently in charge of our beloved national pastime are certainly giving it their best shot. I blame the schools! 😥 Off my lawn Manfred et. al.
I’m seeing a ton of similarities between baseball right now and boxing in the 90s. It isn’t going well for boxing right now.
As we all watch Judge embarrass himself on the sport’s biggest stage, don’t forget how the voters completely robbed MVP away from Shohei in 2022.
Best season in baseball history was not rightfully awarded MVP because some dude in NY hit 62 HRs off juiced balls.
No love for LAD, but I’m happy for Sho.
.273 / .356 / .519 (666 PAs)
34 HRs
95 RBIs
and
166 IP
2.33 ERA
1.01 WHIP
219 Ks
What a season, the best season ever
Another reason to hate the MFY, juiced balls that the media barely scratched.
MFY, exposed.
This is the truth
Solar Sox won yesterday…our guys did good.

Next game versus the Saguaros again today.

Thanks for keeping the AFL updates going.
Some of our guys are looking good. If Davis Daniel can somehow break out and be a decent rotation piece, that would be huge.
You’re welcome…a glass half full endeavor.
Uh, that’s the Tampa Bay Rays stadium situation, not the Marlins.
Sorry. I think the article said Marlins yesterday, but a little independent thinking on my part should have been exercised.
