Angels Leave Oakland FOR-EV-ER with a Win!

It is the last game in Oakland in Angels history. (Most Likely) The A’s are moving to Sacramento next season, and as we can see by the calendar, won’t even be emphasizing a city anymore. For as dark as the Angels have been this season, as well as the last decade really, remember it can always get worse. At least we are not A’s fans.

So, who gets to be the final starting pitcher for the Angels in the Oakland whatever they are calling it now Coliseum? Carson Fulmer. Well, alright then, how did he do? He went 4 and 2/3 innings, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits, striking out 3 and walking 2. The final line one final time in Oakland.

And the offense took a bit, but had an explosive 8th inning to give themselves the lead late. Everyone was involved, with even the bench getting involved. Credit was spread all around, from Adell, to M-I-C-K-E-Y, even Rendon did something.

Yes, a whole team affair, one where the offense scored, and the Bullpen had to go 4 and a third innings. Even if that wasn’t the smoothest, the whole team was involved in one way or another. A fitting final game in Oakland for the Halos.

Highlighted Recap

Things started in the 3rd with the A’s scoring first on a double

1-0 A’s

Make that 2

2-0 A’s

But the Angels got on the board with a SAC fly in the 4th

2-1 A’s

M-I-C-K-E-Y tied it up in the 5th

2-2

But the A’s got that right back in the bottom half

3-2 A’s

Things got messy in the 7th, as the Angels walked in a run

4-2 A’s

And another on a wild pitch

5-2 A’s

But the 8th was a time for comebacks, and the Angels got one on a bases loaded walk of their own!

5-3 A’s

And Nolan had an infield single for another run!

5-4 A’s

And Rendon had an RBI fielder’s choice to tie the game.

TIED AGAIN

Then Kevin Pillar drove in 2 to give the Angels the lead!

7-5 Angels!

That’s a BLITZ! And the Angels take the lead, needing just 6 outs to win.

While the Bullpen held up, the Angels had one last chance to add on. A 2 run lead is hard to hold. Let’s make it a 3 run lead instead!

8-5 Angels

Estavez now had a chance to give the Angels the win in their last game in Oakland FOR-EV-ER. (Prolly)

Angels win

He did so! Angels win! They lost the series, but they won their final game to salvage something.

Upcoming

The Angels go and face the Mariners next, and then the A’s for the final time in 2024 but at the Big A this time. Yes, the Angels are done with the A’s in just over a month. All divisional games against a team in less than 40 days. I don’t even think the NFL allows that anymore.

.500 team since June 1. Interesting way to look at it. The schedule eased up a bit. I think their ceiling of everything went right was max 78-81 win team. Considering they once again relied on journeymen over 3 months, it’s interesting. Perry did well finding a few plugs but we lack starting pitching and offensive star power which is why we suck.

we knew we had a tough schedule to open the season. Seattle got suckered in by their easier schedule. They thought they were really good. I don’t think we’ll catch them but I suspect they’ll be under .500 too when it’s all over.

Castillo, Kirby, Woo and Gilbert. Those 4 guys alone will keep them in the hunt with Munoz closing.

Offensively, the team is being carried by O’Hoppe, Moniak, Neto, Adell, and Schanuel. There are ups and downs in that group but perhaps a core of hitters is emerging as we had all hoped.

Sucks to see the team leave Oakland. This Cali rivalry defined my early years as a fan.

At least they salvaged what would have been a truly ugly, horrid series sweep.

I don’t expect much from the Angels against good teams. But I expect them to be at least competitive against the likes of the A’s. So to have those previous two losses was truly pathetic.

It really does look like we’ve seen the end of the long long looooong Angels at Oakland series. They had beaten us 8 straight there until today.

Sucks for their fans. A lot of people can’t see them in Vegas next year and probably they’ll be playing in Sacramento? Who knows. But baseball owners are, in general, a-holes (we should know), but theirs is really, really, RILLY bad. John Fisher: wouldn’t wish him on our most hated rivals.

OAK the city is having a really rough patch and the fans just suffer. No one was going to build them a new stadium, and yea, I’ve been there for 30-40 games over the years and the place is a real dump.

Anyway, fair thee well to OAK and its fans. The fans in the good seats there are really cool, even when I’m in full Halos regalia. The fans in the bleachers tend to be thugs, though. And the ushers don’t care, as if: hey what did you expect, Angels fan? I won’t miss that.

But man: all in all, it really blows for the hardcore A’s fans I’ve met over the years.

With our own ownership management under complete jerk-offs who don’t invest in the deep infrastructure every baseball team needs to be viable, perennial contenders, could this be us? I think there’s too much $$$ in the general area for it to happen soon. Count ourselves “lucky” compared to A’s fans. But I have to say, over the past 6-8 years, I sorta feel like saying, Spartacus-like, “I am an A’s fan.”

Think of Arte saying, “Screw this deal with Anaheim; I’m moving to Phoenix where they will build me a new stadium and I still get TV package money,” etc. That’s basically John Fisher. What an effing d-bag.

Since 1968: Angels@Oakland A’s.

No mas.

Damn.

Jerry shaking up his roster….it’s trading time Jer!

The Mariners have placed first baseman Ty France on outright waivers, according to Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times. France remains on the club’s 40-man roster and can still play for the Mariners while on waivers until or unless he is claimed.

I thought Tyler Anderson would’ve been traded by now. Scheduled for tomorrow in SEA? I’d think the Doyers have too many good young prospect NOT to trade for Anderson right about now.

And by now, I mean in hours before TA is due to take the mound for a team playing out a string of games.

Doyer Trade?? First of all, Anderson is not good enough anymore to be on team elite. They want the best pitcher available the Sox Crochet and throw in A’s Miller too. It’s all about padding an already stacked team; Fk the MLB, it’s all about Dodgers supremacy.. That’s why Padres, Giants Mets, Yankees, Astros ( cause they hate them back ) and Angels fans all cheer when they choke in playoffs. Second, they have made it an art of ripping teams off in deadline trades. They will definitely under cuts us in some way in a trade for prospects. We can find a different team to deal with before 2024 deadline.

Well, they came away with a win to keep from getting swept. String together a few wins and prepare to meet your new teammates as the trade deadline approaches.
